Job Description

We are seeking a Maintenance Tech II to join our team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in industrial maintenance, mechanical and electrical troubleshooting, fabrication, and facilities support and a proven ability to diagnose faults, perform preventive maintenance, and complete repairs with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform duties safely using approved safety equipment as instructed.
  • Identify equipment requiring repairs and upgrades.
  • Troubleshoot equipment without direct supervision and contact manufacturer technical service as needed.
  • Perform preventive maintenance as required.
  • Execute general fabrication, including MIG/TIG welding, plasma cutting, oxy-acetylene torch cutting, and band saw cutting.
  • Apply mechanical knowledge to basic electrical work using blueprints and meters without supervision.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, mechanical schematics, and diagrams to diagnose issues independently.
  • Disassemble, diagnose, and repair mechanical failures without direct supervision.
  • Install machinery and maintain equipment.
  • Perform general plumbing for equipment and facilities, including installing water, air, and drain lines and repairing sinks, drain lines, toilets, and urinals.
  • Perform general HVAC maintenance, including unit heaters, radiant tube heaters, furnaces, air conditioning systems, make-up air units, industrial ovens, and exhaust fans.
  • Assist outside contractors in repairing and installing machinery.
  • Maintain and repair pneumatic systems, including airlines, fittings, valves, and cylinders, and rebuild cylinders.
  • Maintain and repair hydraulic systems, including hoses, pumps, valves, and motors.
  • Operate forklifts and scissor lifts safely.
  • Maintain effective working relationships and keep a neat and clean work area.
  • Manage inventory and control stock of supplies.
  • Participate in Trystar continuous improvement by understanding team performance and supporting process improvements.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Two years of technical training in industrial or building maintenance and four years of field experience as an Industrial Maintenance Associate, or eight years of field experience as an Industrial Maintenance Mechanic.
  • Ability to read, write, and understand work instructions in English.
  • Proficiency with power tools and safe work practices.
  • Flexibility in work hours and participation in maintenance on-call rotation.
  • Ability to train on day shift for approximately 6 to 12 months.

Preferred Skills:

  • Ability to operate a lathe and mill.
  • Experience with machinery installation and OEM technical support coordination.
