Key Responsibilities

\n

• Cloud Architecture and Strategy: Define and lead the overall cloud data architecture and strategy, establishing standards for scalability, resilience, and performance.

\n

• Data Platform Architecture: Oversee the design and deployment of the data warehouse platform, including data ingestion, transformation, storage patterns, lakehouse architecture, and data retention policies.

\n

• Project and Portfolio Management: Manage multiple data integration projects and enhancement requests using Agile project management practices and Azure DevOps.

\n

• Business Requirements and Change Management: Translate business requirements into actionable tasks for the data engineering team, track progress, analyze outcomes, and communicate project status, risks, and milestones.

\n

• Budget and Contract Management: Coordinate with the program manager to develop and manage annual budgets, monitor staff hours and performance, and prepare weekly and monthly status reports and invoices.

\n

• Program Governance: Establish and implement data engineering standards, data governance practices, and stakeholder engagement frameworks.

\n

• Documentation and Engineering Standards: Improve engineering standards, technical documentation, business logic documentation, and process transparency.

\n

• Data Integrations and APIs: Lead the implementation of data integrations involving APIs, batch feeds, streaming data, and SFTP file transfers. Establish API management strategies and data transfer best practices.

\n

• Resource Monitoring and Cost Optimization: Monitor and troubleshoot Power BI Premium Capacity usage and Azure Synapse performance, including CPU utilization, job scheduling, pipeline failures, and compute scaling.

\n

• Security and Compliance: Implement platform security architecture, including identity and access management (IAM), role-based access control (RBAC), and key management.

\n

• Team Leadership: Coordinate data engineering activities, manage project priorities, and ensure timely delivery of agreed-upon enhancements and integrations.

\n

Key Deliverables

• Lead new data integrations and enhancements for the ADAW platform.

\n

• Oversee the architecture and performance of cloud-based data warehouse components.

\n

• Manage project plans, user stories, milestones, and implementation tracking through Azure DevOps.

\n

• Troubleshoot platform issues and implement performance and scalability improvements.

\n

• Establish engineering standards, governance practices, and technical documentation.

\n

• Coordinate with stakeholders and the data engineering team to ensure delivery of project requirements.
