BEARCloud's client is seeking an experienced Cybersecurity Engineer to strengthen security across a growing technology environment. This hands-on role focuses on security operations, detection and response, infrastructure security, and automation across cloud, on-prem, and endpoint environments.You'll partner with IT, infrastructure, and engineering teams to improve visibility, reduce risk, respond to threats, and build practical security controls.
What You'll Do
- Manage security controls across cloud, on-prem, network, and endpoint environments.
- Improve security monitoring, logging, alerting, and threat detection.
- Support SIEM, SOAR, EDR/XDR, and related security platforms.
- Develop detections, automation, and incident response workflows.
- Investigate security incidents and coordinate remediation.
- Support vulnerability management, patching, and security assessments.
- Strengthen identity, access, authentication, and zero-trust security practices.
- Build scripts and automation to improve security operations.
- Partner with technical teams to incorporate security into infrastructure and applications.
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years of security engineering, security operations, detection engineering, or incident response experience.
- Hands-on experience with SIEM, SOAR, EDR/XDR, and security monitoring.
- Strong knowledge of endpoint, network, identity, and access security.
- Experience with cloud and hybrid environments such as AWS or GCP.
- Familiarity with IAM/SSO, zero trust, SASE, CASB, VPNs, firewalls, and IDS/IPS.
- Scripting experience with Python, Go, Bash, or similar languages.
- Experience with vulnerability management and security remediation.
- Understanding of threat modeling and modern detection and incident response practices.
