Data Architect
Salt Lake City, UT (Onsite 2-3 days per week/Hybrid)
Contract Rate: $55.00 - $85.00per hr.
Contract Duration: Up to 3 Years
We are seeking a Data Architect to guide the modernization of a healthcare data platform. This person will establish scalable data architecture standards, shape the organization's data-mart strategy, and help make complex data more accessible for analytics, research, and downstream tools.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and maintain enterprise data architecture standards and best practices.
- Design and evolve a scalable data-mart strategy across multiple subject areas.
- Lead efforts to standardize metadata management and data documentation practices.
- Evaluate and recommend industry-standard metadata, cataloging, and data-governance tools.
- Help abstract complex underlying data structures into usable, well-defined datasets.
- Partner with data engineering teams on data models, ingestion patterns, and data accessibility.
- Support the broader modernization of data ingestion, storage, and consumption architecture.
- Advise stakeholders on data architecture decisions, standards, and long-term roadmaps.
Required Qualifications
- Three to five years of practical data architecture experience.
- Experience designing data marts, analytical data models, or data warehouse structures in a relational database environment.
- Healthcare data domain experience, including familiarity with healthcare data standards and interoperability concepts.
- Strong understanding of metadata management, data modeling, and data governance concepts.
- Ability to define technical standards and communicate them to engineers and business stakeholders.
- Experience working with complex, multi-source data environments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience evaluating data catalog, metadata, or governance platforms.
- Experience supporting cloud data platforms or hybrid on-premises/cloud architectures.
- Experience working with research, analytics, or large-scale longitudinal datasets.
