The Quality Technician works on the production floor to measure and inspect first-run parts, last-run parts, and perform periodic quality checks. This role ensures that all products meet established specifications and quality standards through accurate measurement, inspection, and documentation.
Responsibilities
- Measure and inspect first-run parts to verify they meet all specified quality and dimensional requirements before full production begins.
- Inspect last-run parts to confirm consistency and adherence to quality standards at the end of production runs.
- Perform periodic checks on parts during production to monitor ongoing quality and identify potential issues early.
- Use calipers, gauges, and other measurement tools to perform precise inspections of parts and components.
- Read and interpret measurements using a metric ruler and apply tolerance calculations to determine acceptability of parts.
- Accurately document inspection results in the appropriate documentation system and maintain clear, organized records.
- Communicate quality issues and findings to production personnel in a clear and professional manner.
- Collaborate with production staff to address and resolve quality concerns in a timely and effective way.
- Follow established quality procedures and inspection protocols to ensure consistency and compliance with standards.
Essential Skills
- Hands-on experience with inspection processes in a production or manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in using calipers, gauges, and other precision measurement tools.
- Ability to read and use a metric ruler accurately for measurement tasks.
- Ability to calculate tolerances and determine whether parts meet specified limits.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high quality standards.
- Effective communication skills to discuss quality issues with production personnel.
- Ability to work on the production floor and perform inspections throughout different stages of the production process.
- Basic documentation skills to record inspection data clearly and accurately in a documentation system.

Work Environment

Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Frankfort, KY.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $19.25 - $20.25/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
