Position Summary
The Flex Security Officer is responsible for maintaining a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for our guests, associates, visitors, and property. This position is scheduled primarily for PM and Overnight shifts and is expected to provide coverage across multiple shifts based on operational needs, call-outs, vacations, and special events. The ideal candidate is dependable, adaptable, and committed to delivering exceptional guest service while protecting Hotel Phoenix's people, property, and assets.
Essential Responsibilities
- Patrol all guest areas, back-of-house areas, parking facilities, and hotel grounds to ensure the safety and security of the property.
- Respond promptly and professionally to guest requests, emergencies, disturbances, and security incidents.
- Complete accurate incident, accident, and daily activity reports before the end of each shift.
- Monitor CCTV cameras, fire life safety systems, alarms, and access control systems.
- Control access to associate entrances, loading dock areas, and restricted locations while verifying credentials.
- Conduct bag inspections and enforce hotel security procedures in accordance with company policy.
- Assist guests with escorts, lockouts, lost and found, and other guest service requests.
- Work collaboratively with all hotel departments to resolve safety and security concerns.
- Respond appropriately to medical emergencies and assist emergency responders.
- Enforce hotel policies and procedures with professionalism, fairness, and respect.
- Maintain a visible security presence to deter theft, vandalism, and unauthorized activity.
- Support special events, VIP arrivals, and high-volume operations as assigned.
- Perform all other duties as assigned by Security Leadership.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous hotel security, hospitality, military, or law enforcement experience preferred.
- Georgia Security Officer registration (if required) or ability to obtain.
- CPR, AED, and First Aid certification preferred or willingness to obtain.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent customer service and conflict resolution skills.
- Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions during emergencies.
- Basic computer skills with the ability to complete electronic reports.
Physical Requirements
- Stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift.
- Frequently climb stairs and patrol both indoor and outdoor areas.
- Lift and carry up to 50 pounds when necessary.
- Work in varying weather conditions.
- Respond quickly during emergency situations.
Schedule Expectations
- Must be available to work PM and Overnight shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- Must maintain a flexible schedule to cover call-outs, vacations, and special events.
- Overtime may be required based on operational needs.
