Job DescriptionSummary:The custodians are responsible for the cleanliness and overall appearance of all Dixie Technical College facilities located in St. George, Utah. The part-time custodians will work a four-hour night shift daily. The custodians will ensure that students, faculty, and staff can work and learn in spaces that promote professionalism. Dixie Tech is a public technical college located on a new state-of-the-art campus in St. George, Utah. The College has 30 Council on Occupational Education-accredited programs that offer certifications in high-demand, high-pay professions.Hours: 8 PM to Midnight, Monday through Thursday, and 6 - 10 PM Fridays. The schedule may include an occasional Saturday.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Vacuum carpets and area rugs, removing all dirt and debrisMop hard surface flooring, removing all dirt and debrisClean drinking fountains and remove watermarksClean and sanitize restrooms, including entrance doors, stall doors, toilets, floors, sinks, mirrors, and dispensersClean and sanitize break room microwaves, sinks, and surfaces dailyClean area surfaces and dust offices, conference rooms, and reception areas dailyClean and maintain debris-free entrance areas. Clean door areas as needed inside and out. Clean glass, removing handprints and smudgesRemove trash daily Spot clean carpets as neededReplenish toiletry supplies and hand soap as neededMust be able to perform the above cleaning operations for up to four hours per dayMaintain confidentialityInteract professionally with students, staff, and the publicReport to the Custodial SupervisorEnsure that students and staff are treated respectfully and equally without regard to their race, color, religion, sex, age (40 or over), national origin, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity, pregnancy, childbirth, or pregnancy-related condition. Report all violations immediately to HR or Student ServicesCompliance with Dixie Tech Policies and ProceduresOther duties as assignedRequirements and Qualifications:High School diploma or equivalentPrefer at least six months of custodial experienceWelcomes feedbackAbility to understand verbal and printed instructions.Time management skillsAbility to stand, walk, bend, sit, crouch, climb stairs, and move about; operate vacuums and other related equipment; safely use cleaning equipment and supplies; stand and be on foot for the full work shift; and use applicable hand and power tools.Ability to read, understand, and follow written and verbal communications, and enforce safety proceduresThe employee must frequently lift and/or move items up to 50 pounds.
