POSITION SUMMARY:
A Plant Operations Manager serves as a key leader in maintaining the overall functionality, safety, and efficiency of the facility. This role is responsible for ensuring the building operates smoothly by identifying and addressing maintenance issues earlypreventing them from escalating into larger concerns.
In this position, the Plant Operations Manager provides direct supervision to maintenance staff while also actively participating in a wide range of repair and upkeep tasks. Responsibilities include performing routine maintenance, addressing structural repairs such as doors, windows, and walls, and resolving plumbing issues to prevent damage and maintain proper function. The role also involves managing electrical repairs, maintaining HVAC systems to ensure proper climate control, and implementing preventative measures to reduce future maintenance needs.
Safety is a top priority, and the Plant Operations Manager is responsible for identifying and correcting potential hazards to maintain a secure environment for both patients and staff. Additional duties may include painting, basic carpentry, and groundskeeping, ensuring the facility remains clean, functional, and well-maintained at all times.
This role requires strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and hands-on technical skills in plumbing, electrical work, and general maintenance. The ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with staff is essential to ensure all maintenance needs are addressed promptly and professionally.
The position also requires physical stamina, as it involves extended periods of standing, walking, lifting, and performing repetitive tasks in a fast-paced healthcare environment. The Plant Operations Manager must be able to work in conditions that may include exposure to noise, dust, and cleaning chemicals, while maintaining a high level of performance and safety standards.
Overall, this role is vital in supporting the daily operations of the facility and ensuring a safe, efficient, and well-maintained environment.
PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Education: Minimum High School Diploma
License: None
Experience: Minimum 2 years experience in general maintenance experience in a hospital or business setting with
duties that include general maintenance tasks involving the upkeep of the facility.
