Job Title: Quality Assurance Inspector I

Pay Rate:

  • 2nd Shift: $19.00/hour + $1.25 shift differential = $20.25/hour
  • 3rd Shift: $19.00/hour + $1.50 shift differential = $20.50/hour

Location: East Providence, RI
Duration: Temp-to-Perm
Shift Options:

  • 2nd Shift: 3:00 PM–11:30 PM
  • 3rd Shift: 11:00 PM–7:30 AM

Job Summary

We are seeking a Quality Assurance Inspector I to perform product inspections within a manufacturing environment. The selected candidate will be assigned to inspect products within one designated production area, either tip assembly or injection molding.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform visual, dimensional, and attribute inspections according to established sampling plans.
  • Document inspection results and identify accepted and rejected products.
  • Read and interpret basic engineering drawings, dimensions, and notes related to inspected parts.
  • Package, weigh, and label inspected products.
  • Accurately perform measurements using calipers, gauges, pins, optical comparators, tensile testers, and other inspection equipment.
  • Conduct functional testing as required.
  • Properly maintain and care for measuring and testing equipment.
  • Determine product acceptability according to established workmanship standards and procedures.
  • Approve or reject products based on inspection results.
  • Perform sorting and rework activities as needed.
  • Complete additional duties as assigned.

Education and Experience Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous quality assurance or inspection experience preferred.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements

  • Work is performed in a laboratory and manufacturing environment.
  • Must be able to remain standing for extended periods during working hours.
  • Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds.
  • Must regularly use hands to perform inspections and operate measurement equipment.
  • Must wear required personal protective equipment, including safety glasses, gloves, hair covering, and lab coat.
  • Close vision, color vision, and depth perception are required. Magnification may be used during the inspection process.
  • The work environment is generally quiet to moderately noisy.

Advancement Opportunity

This position offers the opportunity to transition to a permanent role based on performance and business needs. Upon conversion, employees may advance to a Level II position with an additional $1.00/hour increase.
