Java Developer (Mid-Level)
Logistics and Integration Platform

Every day, millions of packages move between merchants and carriers on multiple continents. This team writes the software behind those handoffs, and AI is built into every step of how they code.
About the Work
The engineering group is rebuilding a worldwide shipping and e-commerce platform that links hundreds of carriers across time zones. Two major efforts are underway: modernizing the ERP system at the core of the business, and launching a Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) product that gives companies one integration layer to reach carriers around the globe.
The team needs a mid-level Java developer whose daily coding has been reshaped by AI tools, and who wants to bring that approach to a group building at worldwide scale.
What You'll Work On
• Ship and support features on a worldwide shipping and e-commerce platform, splitting time between new builds and modernizing legacy code
• Design and connect REST and event-driven APIs that link carriers, merchants, and internal systems
• Help build the PaaS integration layer that lets carriers anywhere plug into a single, unified API
• Use AI tools such as Claude and Copilot as core parts of your workflow: generating code, writing tests, drafting documentation, and preparing for code reviews
• Weigh in on design decisions with senior engineers and architects through architecture reviews and pull request feedback
• Partner with Business Analysts to turn requirements into clean Java code backed by solid tests
• Take a turn in the on-call rotation, help respond to incidents, and contribute to post-mortems
What You'll Need
• 3 to 5 years of hands-on Java experience (Java 17 or later preferred)
• Working fluency with the Spring Framework: Spring Boot, Spring MVC, and Spring Data
• A track record of building and consuming REST APIs that run in production
• Proven AI-first habits: you can explain specific ways AI tools have changed how you work, beyond simply using them
• Comfort working in a distributed microservices environment
• A solid grounding in data structures, design patterns, debugging, and writing maintainable code
Nice to Have
• Logistics or supply chain background
• Exposure to ERP systems
• AWS experience

This goes well beyond accepting the occasional Copilot suggestion. Engineers here use AI to scaffold new services, generate and tighten tests, speed up code reviews, and compare design options quickly. Just as important, they know when to trust model output, when to challenge it, and when to verify it. Writing good prompts is treated as part of the craft.
