Software QA Lead / Test Lead – Healthcare Applications (Hybrid)
Location: Baltimore, MD (40–65% On-Site / Hybrid)
Employment: Full-Time | Contract Assignment

About the Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Software QA Lead / Test Lead to support enterprise application modernization and quality assurance initiatives in the healthcare and public-sector environment.

This is a hands-on technical leadership opportunity for a quality assurance professional with strong testing experience, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to coordinate test strategies across complex systems.

The ideal candidate can develop testing approaches, execute critical test activities, collaborate with developers, and help ensure enterprise applications meet functional, performance, security, and quality expectations.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute comprehensive software test plans, test cases, test scenarios, and QA strategies.
• Lead functional, integration, regression, performance, and security testing activities.
• Evaluate enterprise applications, healthcare data interfaces, and case management systems.
• Identify, document, prioritize, and track defects through resolution.
• Perform root cause analysis and recommend corrective actions.
• Coordinate testing activities with developers, business analysts, project managers, and end users.
• Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and validate delivered software functionality.
• Develop and monitor QA metrics, defect trends, and process improvement initiatives.
• Ensure testing processes align with applicable quality, security, and data governance requirements.

Required Qualifications

• At least 8 years of information systems quality assurance experience.
• At least 5 years of specialized experience involving statistical methods, quality standards, and QA/process methodologies.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline.
• Hands-on experience developing test plans, test cases, and defect management processes.
• Demonstrated understanding of software quality assurance methodologies, software development lifecycles, and enterprise application testing.
• Strong analytical, technical documentation, and communication skills.
• Ability to work on-site in Baltimore approximately 40–65% of the time.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience leading software testing or QA activities for enterprise applications.
• Healthcare IT, Electronic Health Records (EHR), case management, or public-sector modernization experience.
• Automated testing tools or frameworks such as Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, or similar.
• Jira, Azure DevOps, or comparable test and defect management tools.
• API testing, data validation, integration testing, and Agile development environments.
• Experience supporting state government IT programs or large-scale modernization projects.
