Job Description

General Overview: Provides advanced maintenance support to all departments, ensuring that all machinery and equipment within the facility remain in safe and reliable operating condition. Requires 7–10 years of experience and demonstrated advanced proficiency in both electrical and mechanical troubleshooting.

The role requires a strong understanding of industrial control systems, pneumatic and hydraulic systems, PLCs, and plant utility operations. Must exhibit sound problem‑solving and critical‑thinking abilities, along with the capability to lead, coach, and develop lower‑tier maintenance technicians.

\n

The position requires a self‑motivated individual who can consistently and safely perform complex electrical and mechanical repairs with minimal or no supervision. Must be able to effectively communicate with department leadership regarding maintenance concerns and coordinate or negotiate necessary downtime to support repairs and preventive maintenance activities.

This role also serves as a backup to the Maintenance and Facilities Manager and is expected to assume those responsibilities in their absence.

  • Must have hand tools, approved multimeter, and toolbox.
  • \n

  • Performs daily machine inspections, is situationally aware of problems and issues, performs corrective actions without supervision.
  • \n

  • Communicate the issues to affected departments and process leadership without having to be directed to do so.
  • \n

  • Proficient in troubleshooting, maintaining and upgrading processes and equipment.
  • \n

  • Strategically prepares ahead for the job to expedite repairs and reduce machine downtime.
  • \n

  • Manages projects, multitasks, and leads and directs technicians’ activities; monitoring technician progress throughout the day to ensure successful completion of assigned tasks.
  • \n

  • Serves as the backup to the Maintenance Manager and responsibilities in the leadership role.
  • \n

  • Observes, leads, and monitors the training of maintenance techs at all levels.
  • \n

  • Proficiency and ownership of the maintenance management CMMS systems.
  • \n

  • Proficiency in plantwide assets: Robotics, PLCs, injection & blow molding equipment, assembly line, testers, and support equipment.
  • \n

  • Proficient in troubleshooting of equipment and processes in industrial electrical, hydraulics, and pneumatic controls.
  • \n

  • Closely work with technicians to train and evolve the department to complete tasks quickly and proficiently.
  • \n

  • Works independently and proficiently in all areas of the plant.
  • \n

  • Establishes maintenance and PM procedures to better maintain mechanical and electrical systems.
  • \n

  • Leads and monitors the maintenance team in troubleshooting of equipment as needed following proper LOTO and all safety procedures.
  • \n

  • Utilizes CMMS system to track daily activities, close workorders, track time, etc.
  • \n

  • Meticulously documents preventative maintenance activities in CMMS system: including service dates, replacement information, and keeping accurate records.
  • \n

  • Lead and direct objectives and goals in team meetings to discuss strategies on how best to maintain machinery & keep it working at optimal levels during peak seasonal periods.
  • \n

  • Lead team to maintain housekeeping goals and standards in the maintenance shop and follows 5S system.
  • \n

  • Lead and maintain departments standards for all personal protective standards.
  • \n

  • Other duties as assigned by Maintenance Manager.
  • \n

  • Using company systems and policies to be proactive in maintaining critical parts and materials and vendor management resources to reduce maintenance downtime and to archive maintenance goals.

Qualifications, Skills, Competencies:

  • Work productively without supervision.

  • Proficient in industrial, mechanical, and electrical skills.

  • Proficiency in PLC hardware and software.

  • Proficient in installing, programing, AC & DC drives, servos, and heating controls.
  • \n

  • Troubleshoot and manually drive multi axis robots.
  • \n

  • Maintain production equipment and facility equipment
  • \n

  • Proficient with Facility Systems: Fire Suppression Systems, Chillers, Water tower, Natural Gas Systems, Pump House (Diesel Engine)
  • \n

  • Proficient with 4-20 mA
  • \n

  • Ability to prioritize equipment issues and problems.
  • \n

  • Communication, professionalism, and time management skills.
  • \n

  • Safe work habits & methods following all standards.
  • \n

Education/Experience:

\n

    \n
  • You must have at least 7-10 years’ experience in industrial maintenance field.
  • \n

  • Focus on Electrical Technology.
  • \n

  • Formal LOTO and Arc Flash training.
  • \n

  • Previous Forklift and Fall Protection training required.
  • \n
