Role Description The AV/Security Install Technician is a full-time, on-site role based in Overland Park, KS. This role is responsible for installing, configuring, and testing audio/visual and security systems, including cabling, hardware mounting, and equipment setup according to project specifications and industry standards. Day-to-day tasks include reading and interpreting technical drawings, performing system checks, identifying and resolving technical issues, and documenting work performed. The technician collaborates with project managers, engineers, and other team members to ensure timely, high-quality installations, and interacts with customers on-site to explain system functionality and support a smooth handover. The role requires adherence to safety protocols, care in handling tools and equipment, and consistent travel to customer locations within the region as needed.\n

- Candidates should possess strong Troubleshooting skills for diagnosing and resolving technical issues with AV and security systems.
- Candidates should possess effective Communication skills to collaborate with team members and clearly explain system features to customers.
- Candidates should possess Customer Service and Customer Satisfaction skills to support positive client experiences during installation and post-install support.
- Candidates should possess practical Cabling skills, including pulling, terminating, labeling, and testing low-voltage cabling in a variety of environments.
- Relevant experience in AV, security, or low-voltage installations; familiarity with basic hand and power tools; and the ability to work safely on ladders and in construction environments.
- Ability to read blueprints and wiring diagrams, follow detailed instructions, and maintain accurate installation documentation.
- Reliable transportation to Overland Park, KS job sites, punctuality, and the ability to work full-time schedules that may occasionally include overtime.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certifications or training in AV, security systems, or low-voltage systems are beneficial.
