In this business line, we provide value-added services including logistics management, equipment refurbishment, data erasure, product remarketing, sales, revenue sharing, and reporting for our clients. We are headquartered in Burlington, MA with business operations around the world, including Asia, India, Europe, and Latin America.

illumynt is also engaged in the business of wholesale distribution of technology equipment including computers, computer components and peripherals, networking and telecommunications hardware, and other electronic products. We obtain supply on consignment and through direct purchase from end users, large manufacturers (OEM’s), and distributors who find themselves with excess inventory. We re-sell those products to end users, other OEM’s, distributors, resellers, and brokers worldwide.

Position Summary:

The Facilities Manager owns the day-to-day condition, safety, and uptime of illumynt’s Columbus site, including the warehouse, processing floor, test lab, and office space. This role functions as both a hands-on operator and a project manager, performing or directly supervising smaller-scope electrical and plumbing work in-house while shifting to a project management capacity for larger capital and construction projects. For outsourced work, the Facilities Manager is responsible for scoping, competitively bidding, and managing outside contractors from contract through final inspection. This position requires a detail-oriented, safety-focused professional who can balance daily facility operations with longer-horizon capital project execution.

Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

Facility Operations & Maintenance

• Own daily operation of building systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire and life safety, security, and material-handling equipment such as dock doors, conveyors, and racking.
• Build and maintain a preventive-maintenance schedule for all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems.
• Triage and resolve facility work orders; keep a maintenance log current for audit and warranty purposes.
• Manage vendors for utilities, waste and e-waste hauling, janitorial, pest control, and landscaping.
• Lead safety walkthroughs and keep the site current with OSHA, fire code, and Columbus building code requirements.
• Own the facilities operating budget for maintenance, consumables, and minor repairs.

Licensed Trade Work – In-House, Smaller Scope

• Perform or directly supervise smaller electrical work including circuit additions, lighting retrofits, equipment power drops, and panel and sub-panel work within the scope allowed by license and code.
• Perform or directly supervise smaller plumbing work including fixture installation and repair, supply and drain line work, and minor rough-in within licensed scope.
• Pull permits and schedule inspections for in-housework through the City of Columbus and Ohio OCILB as required.
• Keep required state and city licensure current, including continuing education on the National Electrical Code (NEC) and Ohio Plumbing Code.
• Recognize when a job exceeds in-house scope or licensed authority and escalate to the appropriate capital project management process.

Capital Project Management – Outsourced, Larger Scope

• Own project management for larger facility work including buildouts, expansions, major MEP replacement, roofing, paving, and large equipment installs outsourced to licensed contractors.
• Write scopes of work, run the RFP and bid process, and recommend contractor award.
• Negotiate and hold contracts, budgets, schedules, and change orders accountable through project closeout.
• Serve as illumynt’s on-site point of contact for contractor crews, coordinating access, site safety plans, and minimizing disruption to warehouse and testing operations.
• Verify contractor licensing, insurance, and lien waivers; confirm permit and inspection closeout before final payment.
• Track milestones and spend against budget; report project status to leadership.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Operations Site Director.

Candidate Requirements:

• 5+ years in facilities management, building maintenance, or trades, including experience supervising staff or contractors.
• Ohio OCILB electrical credential (Electrical Contractor license, or qualifying/journeyman-level credential under the license), or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire.
• City of Columbus Journeyperson Plumber license or OCILB Specialty Plumbing Contractor credential, or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire.
• Working knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and Ohio Plumbing Code.
• Demonstrated track record managing outside contractors including bidding, contracting, budgeting, and scheduling on construction or capital projects.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage concurrent maintenance and capital project responsibilities.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills; ability to coordinate across operations, leadership, and external contractors.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs; work from ladders and lifts and in confined spaces as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Journeyman or Master Electrician license.
• Journeyman or Master Plumber license.
• PMP or CAPM certification.
• Experience in warehouses, distribution, data center, or ITAD/industrial facilities.
• Familiarity with CMMS and procurement/bid software.
• OSHA 30 certification.

Use of Technology – Proficient in CMMS, procurement platforms, and standard office software; applies technology to improve maintenance scheduling and project tracking.
