Schedule: Full-Time

Pay: $17-$20/hr based on relevant experience

Position Overview

We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Groundskeeper to help maintain the appearance, cleanliness, and safety of a commercial property in downtown Colorado Springs. This position is responsible for the daily upkeep of outdoor common areas, landscaping, building exteriors, and surrounding grounds. The ideal candidate enjoys working outdoors, takes pride in maintaining a clean environment, and is comfortable performing general labor and basic maintenance tasks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Inspect building entrances, sidewalks, parking lots, patios, loading areas, bridges, and exterior grounds daily.
  • Pick up litter, empty outdoor trash receptacles, sweep walkways, and maintain a clean and welcoming appearance throughout the property.
  • Remove leaves, weeds, debris, snow, and ice using hand tools and approved equipment.
  • Assist with landscaping activities including mowing, trimming, edging, planting, watering, and mulching.
  • Monitor landscaping and irrigation systems for leaks, damage, standing water, or other issues and report concerns promptly.
  • Clean exterior doors, door frames, windows, signage, and other building surfaces as assigned.
  • Perform basic maintenance duties after training, including changing light bulbs, touch-up painting, tightening hardware, and minor repairs.
  • Complete work orders and accurately document completed tasks, materials used, and property concerns.
  • Support engineers, vendors, and contractors with projects, deliveries, setup, cleanup, and property access as needed.
  • Operate tools, ladders, vehicles, and equipment safely while maintaining them in good working condition.
  • Provide excellent customer service to tenants, visitors, vendors, and team members.
  • Report safety hazards and assist with maintaining a safe work environment.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support overall property operations.

QualificationsRequired Skills

  • General labor experience
  • Landscaping or grounds maintenance knowledge
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and manage daily responsibilities
  • Experience using hand tools and power tools
  • Basic building maintenance skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in landscaping, groundskeeping, janitorial, maintenance, construction, or related fields
  • Ability to follow directions and learn new procedures quickly
  • Basic communication, measurement, and problem-solving skills
  • Comfortable using a smartphone or mobile device for work orders and communication
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record

Physical & Environmental Requirements

  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions throughout the year.
  • Comfortable working around dirt, debris, trash, and other outdoor maintenance conditions.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and perform physical labor for extended periods.
  • Availability to assist with early-morning or after-hours snow and ice removal when scheduled.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Colorado Springs, CO.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $20.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
