Job Description

Lead Project Manager — Fire Protection

\n

\n

Boyer Fire Protection | Southern Illinois

\n

$100,000–$120,000 base + performance incentive

\n

\n

The Opportunity

\n

Boyer Fire Protection is seeking a hands-on Lead Project Manager to help grow an established Southern Illinois fire sprinkler operation. You’ll step into an existing customer base, active work and a five-person team while owning the full project lifecycle — developing opportunities, estimating work, managing awarded projects and building long-term customer relationships.

\n

This is a strong opportunity for someone who enjoys being close to the work today and wants the runway to take on broader territory and leadership responsibility as the operation grows.

\n

\n

What You’ll Own

\n

    \n
  • Win and grow work through bid opportunities, customer relationships, networking and owner-direct business.
  • \n

  • Estimate fire sprinkler projects, including preliminary layout, hydraulic requirements, takeoffs, scope development and bid preparation.
  • \n

  • Manage projects from award through closeout, coordinating design, materials, manpower, schedule, changes, margin and client communication.
  • \n

  • Lead five direct reports while remaining actively involved in projects and customer relationships.
  • \n

  • Help grow the Southern Illinois operation from approximately $2M toward a $3M milestone that supports a dedicated local office.
  • \n

\n

\n

What Will Set You Up for Success

\n

    \n
  • Hands-on fire sprinkler estimating and project management experience with strong technical understanding of sprinkler systems.
  • \n

  • A producer mentality — comfortable estimating, following up on bids, solving problems and driving projects forward.
  • \n

  • Strong customer-development skills and the ability to turn successful projects into repeat business.
  • \n

  • Independent, organized leadership style and willingness to live in or relocate to the Southern Illinois / St. Louis area.
  • \n

\n

Preferred, not required: Local 669/union experience, NICET certification, NFPA 25/service exposure or prior team/territory leadership.

\n

Boyer will also consider a strong sprinkler designer ready to move into sales and project ownership.

\n

\n

Why Boyer

\n

    \n
  • Established business to build on: Existing customers, active work and a local team.
  • \n

  • Autonomy with support: Backing from Boyer’s design, accounting, purchasing and life safety teams, with direct access to leadership.
  • \n

  • Meaningful growth path: Opportunity to help shape the Southern Illinois operation and grow into broader leadership as the business scales.
  • \n

\n

\n

Location, Compensation & Benefits

\n

The role serves Southern Illinois, roughly Springfield south to the bottom of the state, and may be home-based within the territory or based from Boyer’s St. Louis office. Relocation assistance is available.

\n

\n

Compensation: $100,000–$120,000+ base, based on experience, plus performance-based incentive.

\n

\n

Benefits: Include medical, dental and vision coverage; HSA/FSA options; company-paid disability and life insurance; 401(k) with company match; profit sharing; PTO and holidays; and professional development support, including NICET.

\n

\n

Boyer Fire Protection is an equal opportunity employer.
