Role Description The Technology Support Specialist is a part-time, on-site role based in Nahant, MA, providing day-to-day technical support across school buildings. This role includes responding to staff and student help requests, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, setting up devices such as laptops, tablets, printers, and classroom technology, and assisting with user accounts and password resets. The specialist will help maintain the inventory of equipment, perform basic network and connectivity checks, and support the rollout of updates or new applications in coordination with district technology leadership. The role also involves documenting common issues and solutions, promoting effective use of educational technology tools, and communicating clearly with users of varying technical skill levels.

  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and support common classroom and office technologies (computers, tablets, projectors, interactive displays, printers).
  • \n

  • Experience with basic software and operating system support, including installing updates, configuring applications, and resolving user access issues.
  • \n

  • Familiarity with basic networking concepts, such as Wi-Fi connectivity, user logins, and simple diagnostics for internet or server access problems.
  • \n

  • Strong communication and customer service skills, with the ability to explain technical information in clear, accessible language to educators, staff, and students.
  • \n

  • Effective organizational and time-management skills, including prioritizing multiple support requests and maintaining accurate records of work performed.
  • \n

  • Ability to work collaboratively with school administrators, teachers, and to follow district policies and procedures.
  • \n

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; relevant technical certifications, coursework, or experience in K–12 or educational environments are preferred.
  • \n

  • Capacity to handle equipment safely, maintain confidentiality of school and student information, and support an inclusive, non-discriminatory school environment.
