Systems Engineer
Location: Georgetown, KY
Pay Rate: $55.00 – $60.00 per hour

About the Opportunity
Reliance One is seeking a Systems Engineer to support mission-critical manufacturing application systems for a leading automotive client in Georgetown, Kentucky. This position is ideal for a highly organized engineering professional with experience supporting enterprise applications, infrastructure, networking, and manufacturing technologies.
The successful candidate will remotely lead, support, and coordinate application architecture and infrastructure sustainment activities while ensuring system reliability across multiple North American manufacturing facilities.
Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate mission-critical application system architecture and infrastructure sustainment activities.
- Support the operation and reliability of manufacturing applications across multiple North American facilities.
- Perform testing and deployment of quarterly application version upgrades provided by software vendors.
- Conduct quarterly server patch validation activities.
- Troubleshoot application issues and provide technical support for both planned and unplanned events.
- Ensure compliance with cybersecurity requirements, access controls, software lifecycle management, and IT policies.
- Support application and connected-system change management activities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering and IT teams to maintain stable and secure system operations.
- Coordinate with domestic and international teams to support ongoing manufacturing initiatives.
- Assist with project planning, procurement activities, scope management, and progress monitoring.
- Participate in weekend support activities as needed to maintain application availability.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science from an ABET-accredited program.
- Minimum of 3 years of Engineering or Software Engineering experience.
- Minimum of 2 years of project management experience involving planning, procurement, scope control, and project monitoring.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows operating environments, including Windows Server 2016 or newer and Windows 10 or newer.
- Experience working with SQL databases.
- Understanding of:
- Information technology networking
- System architecture
- Cybersecurity principles
- User account management
- IT policies
- Web page design
- Knowledge of PLC I/O systems and industrial data networks, including:
- ControlNet
- DeviceNet
- Ethernet/IP
- FLNET
- Ability to collaborate effectively with North American and overseas engineering and IT teams.
- Willingness to provide weekend support for application management activities.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational and project management abilities.
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills with the ability to visualize solutions and manage project plans effectively.
Preferred Qualifications
- Additional experience working with PLC I/O systems and industrial data networks, including ControlNet, DeviceNet, Ethernet/IP, and FLNET.
- Experience supporting manufacturing environments or industrial automation systems.
