Job Description
We are seeking a dependable and customer-focused Maintenance Assistant/Porter to assist with general maintenance, repairs, cleaning, and upkeep of the community. Responsibilities include completing basic maintenance tasks, maintaining clean and safe common areas, responding to service requests, and assisting with daily facility needs. Candidates must have good communication and customer service skills, a positive attitude, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team. On-call availability is required. Previous maintenance experience is preferred.
Responsibilities:

Perform general maintenance tasks, minor repairs, and routine upkeep throughout the community.

Maintain clean, organized, and presentable common areas, hallways, entrances, offices, and outdoor spaces.

Assist with cleaning, sweeping, mopping, dusting, and other housekeeping duties as needed.

Respond to maintenance requests and assist with completing work orders in a timely manner.

Assist with basic plumbing, electrical, painting, and carpentry repairs as directed.

Inspect community areas and report maintenance concerns, safety hazards, or equipment issues.

Assist with moving furniture, equipment, supplies, and other items as needed.

Support room preparation, including basic repairs, cleaning, and setup for new residents.

Maintain outdoor areas, including walkways, patios, and entrances.

Assist with waste removal and ensure proper disposal of trash and recycling.

Follow established safety procedures and maintain a clean and hazard-free work environment.

Provide friendly and professional assistance to residents, families, visitors, and team members.

Assist with emergency maintenance needs and other facility-related requests as needed.

Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Previous maintenance, porter, janitorial, or general repair experience preferred.

Basic knowledge of maintenance procedures, tools, and equipment.

Ability to perform general repairs and routine maintenance tasks.

Good communication and customer service skills.

Dependable, organized, and able to work independently and as part of a team.

Positive attitude and willingness to assist residents and team members.

Ability to follow instructions, prioritize tasks, and respond to changing needs.

On-call availability is required.
