Job Title: Project Portfolio Manager/Planner (Planisware)

Contract Length: 6-month with possibility of extension

\n

Location: North Chicago, IL 60064 (Tues-Thurs Onsite, Mon & Fri Remote)

\n

Hours: 8am-5pm Central

\n

Start Date: August 31st

\n

\n

Job Description: Our client is seeking an experienced Project Portfolio Manager/Planner to provide support within its Portfolio Strategy & Management organization. This consultant will partner with clinical planners to translate Clinical Development Plans into executable project schedules within AbbVie's customized Planisware (AMP) platform. This is a highly tactical planning role focused on project execution, timeline management, and schedule development.

Responsibilities:

\n

    \n
  • Translate Clinical Development Plans into detailed project schedules using Planisware (AMP).
  • \n

  • Build and maintain project timelines, milestone plans, and critical path schedules to support drug development projects.
  • \n

  • Support Project Managers with project plan maintenance and information reporting.
  • \n

  • Provide data entry for change requests and assist planning teams with schedule maintenance and project documentation.
  • \n

  • Utilize QC reports to ensure proper input of project information and accuracy of data.
  • \n

  • Participate in planning meetings to gather timeline updates and project information.
  • \n

  • Update project schedules based on cross-functional discussions and evolving development plans.
  • \n

  • Ensure project timelines accurately reflect clinical development activities across Phase I–III programs.
  • \n

  • Collaborate closely with portfolio planners while learning AbbVie's internal planning processes.
  • \n

Requirements

\n

    \n
  • Prior experience using Planisware.
  • \n

  • Experience supporting pharmaceutical clinical development programs.
  • \n

  • Understanding of clinical development lifecycle, including Phase I, II, and III studies.
  • \n

  • Strong project planning and scheduling experience.
  • \n

  • Ability to interpret clinical development timelines and convert them into detailed project schedules.
  • \n

  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • \n

  • Comfortable working in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
  • \n

Education/Certification(s)/License(s):

\n

    \n
  • Bachelors degree required, preferably in a technical, scientific or project management related discipline.
  • \n

  • 2+ years professional work experience, preferably in project management, system based processes, or the pharmaceutical or biotech industry, and/or 6+ months working in the planner role.
  • \n

  • Must be self-directed and work well in a team environment, be able to work on multiple projects concurrently and meet commitments, possess excellent oral and written communication skills, be process-oriented, convert goals to tasks and define estimates on time and requirements to achieve goal objectives, and demonstrate initiative.
