Role Description
\n
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Scrum Master with 10+ years of IT experience and a strong background in Agile delivery methodologies. The ideal candidate will have experience leading Agile teams within the Banking or Financial Services domain and will be responsible for facilitating Scrum ceremonies, driving Agile best practices, removing impediments, and ensuring successful delivery of business objectives.

This is an onsite role based in Phoenix, AZ, requiring close collaboration with cross-functional teams, business stakeholders, and leadership.

Key Responsibilities
\n

- Facilitate Agile Scrum ceremonies including Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Reviews, and Retrospectives.
- Serve as a servant leader and coach for one or more Agile teams.
- Guide teams on Agile principles, Scrum framework, and best practices.
- Remove obstacles and impediments that impact team productivity and delivery timelines.
- Collaborate with Product Owners to ensure well-defined and prioritized product backlogs.
- Monitor sprint progress, velocity, team capacity, and delivery metrics.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across teams and Agile processes.
- Promote transparency and effective communication among stakeholders.
- Work closely with business, technology, and leadership teams to align project goals and deliverables.
- Support Agile transformation initiatives and champion Agile culture within the organization.
- Track and report project status, risks, dependencies, and action items.
- Ensure adherence to compliance, governance, and quality standards, especially within banking environments.

Required Qualifications
\n

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business, or related field.
- 10+ years of overall IT experience.
- Minimum 10+ years of experience as a Scrum Master leading Agile teams.
- Strong expertise in Agile methodologies including Scrum, Kanban, SAFe, and Lean.
- Experience facilitating multiple Agile teams in a fast-paced environment.
- Hands-on experience with Agile tools such as Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps, or similar.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution abilities.
- Experience managing dependencies, risks, and cross-functional team coordination.

Location Requirement: Candidate must be willing to work onsite from Phoenix, Arizona and collaborate with business and technology teams from client location. The Scrum Master is a onsite, contract role responsible for facilitating Agile ceremonies and supporting one or more development teams in delivering high-quality software solutions. Day-to-day tasks include organizing and leading sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives, while removing impediments that block team progress. The role involves coaching team members on Agile principles, helping refine and prioritize user stories, and ensuring transparent communication across stakeholders. The Scrum Master will collaborate closely with product owners, software developers, and business partners to maintain alignment on goals, timelines, and deliverables, and to promote continuous improvement in team performance.

- Experience working with User Stories, including refinement, prioritization, and ensuring they are ready for development.
- Understanding of Software Development processes and life cycles, enabling effective collaboration with technical teams.
- Hands-on experience as a Scrum Master or Agile coach in a technology or software-focused environment.
- Familiarity with Agile frameworks (Scrum, Kanban) and tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, or similar platforms.
- Relevant certification (e.g., CSM, PSM) and a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field preferred.
- Ability to work independently in a remote contract setting, manage multiple priorities, and adapt to changing business needs.
