JOB SUMMARY / OBJECTIVE
The Project Engineer is responsible for providing overall administrative and construction support to Project Managers on the day-to-day operations of electrical construction projects. They will analyze technical drawings, interpret specifications and determine electrical requirements of a given project.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
· Prepare and track product submittals.
· Assist in the preparation of change orders.
· Prepare RFI’s and track/document responses.
· Maintain office and field drawing sets with updates as required.
· Provide support in maintaining all change order, submittal and document (drawing) control logs. Prepare required logs and other project documentation for construction meetings.
· Assist in ordering of equipment and materials
· Assist field with communication to and from General Contractor, reference RFI’s to project documents (Procore maintenance), maintain and track extra work tickets, assist with field redlines, maintain punch lists.
· Establish and maintain good working relationships with the Owner, General Contractor, Subcontractors and Vendors to ensure a quality project.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
· High School Diploma; 2+ years of experience in the construction industry.
· Strong verbal, written and organizational skills.
· Strong analytical skills
· Experience with union workforces, labor rate calculations and collective bargaining agreements a plus.
· Knowledge of project scheduling, project cost tracking, procurement.
· Ability to learn and listen.
· Highly proficient in MS Word, Excel, Outlook. Experience with estimating software a plus.
WORKING CONDITIONS
General Office indoor environment, sitting, standing, typing, carrying or walking under normal situations; work is primarily indoors with the exception of meetings or job-walk’s etc. Normal office conditions such as LED and/or fluorescent lighting, air conditioning and heating with low noise. Occasional lifting of plans or related bid documents.
