Alderson Loop is seeking a Senior Cybersecurity Architect to join a large enterprise energy organization’s Cybersecurity Architecture team. This individual will partner closely with business and technology teams to assess the cybersecurity risk associated with new software, hardware, applications, and technology implementations.

\n

\n

This is a security architecture and risk assessment role rather than a hands-on implementation position. The Cybersecurity Architect will evaluate proposed solutions against enterprise security standards, identify and assign risk, establish security requirements and recommendations, and document findings through formal cybersecurity assessments. They will also help business and technical teams determine practical ways to securely implement solutions.

\n

Key Responsibilities

\n

    \n
  • Conduct cybersecurity architecture assessments for new software, hardware, applications, cloud solutions, and other technology implementations.
  • \n

  • Evaluate proposed solutions against enterprise cybersecurity standards and security best practices.
  • \n

  • Identify cybersecurity risks, assign appropriate risk levels, and document findings through formal security assessment reports.
  • \n

  • Define required security controls and provide recommendations for reducing identified risks.
  • \n

  • Partner directly with business and technology teams to explain and defend assessment findings.
  • \n

  • Help teams design secure solutions when architecture or security guidance is needed; this is not a hands-on implementation role.
  • \n

  • Assess a broad range of technologies rather than specializing in one specific area; work is assigned through a centralized architecture review queue.
  • \n

  • Maintain strong knowledge of network security and cloud security, including environments such as AWS, Azure, and GCP.
  • \n

  • Support risk-acceptance processes when identified risks cannot be remediated and require business leadership approval.
  • \n

  • Communicate technical cybersecurity risks clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • \n

\n

\n

Required Qualifications

\n

    \n
  • 5+ years of cybersecurity architecture experience.
  • \n

  • Strong network security knowledge.
  • \n

  • Strong understanding of cloud security; experience with at least one or two major cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP is sufficient.
  • \n

  • Experience conducting cybersecurity architecture and/or technology risk assessments.
  • \n

  • Ability to evaluate technology implementations and identify appropriate security requirements, recommendations, and risk levels.
  • \n

  • Strong communication and stakeholder-facing skills, with the ability to explain and defend technical security findings to business teams.
  • \n

  • CISSP certification required.
  • \n

  • Ability to work primarily onsite in Juno Beach, FL, five days per week.
  • \n

\n

\n

Preferred Qualifications

\n

    \n
  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • \n

  • Cloud security certifications.
  • \n

  • Cybersecurity experience within a highly regulated industry, particularly utilities/energy, financial services, or healthcare.
  • \n

  • Previous experience operating in a large enterprise environment.
  • \n
