Quality Technician - 1st Shift

Job DescriptionMetro Services is seeking to immediately fill a Quality Lab Technician position for a manufacturing client in Manchester, TN. This is a Temp/Contract job. Apply now!
Duties for this position include:
• Inspect, sample, and test raw materials, packaging, and finished products
• Perform routine chemical and basic microbiological testing (pH, viscosity, density, etc.)
• Conduct in-process and final product inspections (fill weight, color, odor, labeling, etc.)
• Identify, investigate, and assist in resolving quality issues and non-conformances
• Collect, analyze, and document test results accurately and in a timely manner
• Maintain lab records, Certificates of Analysis (COAs), and retain samples
• Calibrate, validate, and maintain laboratory equipment
• Support equipment and process validations (IQ, OQ, PQ)
• Coordinate and manage third-party testing and follow up on results
• Maintain a clean and compliant lab environment following GLP standards
• Follow all safety procedures including PPE usage and chemical handling guidelines
• Assist in preparing technical reports and summaries
• Communicate quality concerns effectively with internal teams
Compensation (USD):
$20.00 – $22.00/hour

Successful candidates must meet the following requirements:
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biology, or related field (or equivalent experience)
• Previous laboratory or quality control experience preferred
• Understanding of laboratory equipment and testing processes
• Experience using instruments such as pH meters, viscometers, and balances
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Basic to intermediate computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, databases)
• Strong math and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs
• Comfortable working in a manufacturing and lab environment
