Senior Digital Design Engineer
Job Description
We are currently seeking a Senior Digital Engineer based in our Research and Development center in Milwaukee, WI (Century City Tower at 4201 N 27th St, Milwaukee, WI 53216).

Responsibilities
\n
· Write, simulate, and debug HDL code for FPGA design.
\n
· Write command-line tooling for testing FPGA designs.
\n
· Use Matlab and Simulink to model electrical power systems.
\n
· Use both digital hardware and software knowledge to optimize system design.
\n
· Work with electrical power engineers and controls engineers to develop advanced power control firmware.
\n
Minimum Qualifications
\n
· Bachelor of Science degree
\n
· 5+ years of industry experience with embedded systems HDL design, specifically one or many of the following:
\n
o Communication protocols such as SPI, I2C, memory bus, ARM AMBA AHB or AXI, CAN, RS485, Ethernet, Ethercat, USB, Fiber Optics
\n
o Digital signal processing (DSP)
\n
o Switching power converter control
\n
o Motor control
\n
· Experience using Verilog or VHDL
\n
· Use lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and network analyzers to probe and debug digital hardware
\n
· Experience using Python to create command-line tooling and scripted tests
\n
· Git version control
\n
Desired Qualifications
\n
· Matlab and Simulink with HDL coder
\n
· Experience working with AMD/Xilinx Vivado tool suite and FPGAs
\n
· Fixed-point mathematics experience
\n
· Both Verilog and VHDL experience
\n
· Experience designing ARM AMBA AXI and AXI-Stream connected modules
\n
· Understanding of clock domain management and clock crossing
\n
· CMake experience
\n
· Digital hardware design using Altium Designer
\n
· C/C++, embedded Linux, MCU experience
