What You Will Do

  • Manage all aspects of a residential program to ensure the safety, well-being, and personal growth of individuals supported.

  • Ensure services are delivered according to each individual's Individual Service Plan (ISP), support needs, and personal goals.

  • Develop, maintain, and oversee Individual Service Plans in compliance with OPWDD regulations and agency standards.

  • Monitor and support the implementation of Behavior Support Plans and related strategies.

  • Provide leadership, supervision, and guidance to direct care staff, including Assistant Managers.

  • Oversee staff training, development, performance expectations, and adherence to agency policies and procedures.

  • Participate in recruitment efforts, including interviewing and selecting qualified residential staff.

  • Manage emergency situations, behavioral challenges, and high-pressure incidents with professionalism and sound judgment.

  • Maintain compliance with OPWDD regulations, agency policies, and internal quality standards.

  • Participate in internal and external audits and ensure required documentation is complete and accurate.

  • Collaborate with families, care teams, and agency departments to provide updates and coordinate services.

  • Maintain regular communication with families regarding individuals supported within the residence.

  • Monitor health and fire safety standards to ensure compliance with applicable regulations.

  • Manage residential budgets, monitor expenses, and ensure fiscal documentation and procedures are maintained accurately.

  • Review and approve billing-related documentation and services for individuals supported.

  • Oversee administrative responsibilities including payroll, scheduling, attendance tracking, and employee performance evaluations.

  • Maintain accurate records and documentation using agency systems and required platforms.

  • Respond to urgent incidents and provide support outside of regular work hours when needed.

Minimum QualificationsRequired:

  • Bachelor’s degree in human services or a related field preferred.

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD).

  • Experience supporting individuals with medically complex needs.

  • Strong knowledge of OPWDD regulations and residential service requirements.

  • Valid and clean New York State Driver’s License.

  • Excellent communication, leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to exercise mature judgment and respond professionally during emergencies.

  • Strong computer skills and ability to utilize Microsoft Office.

  • Must possess and maintain a personal cell phone/smartphone for work-related communication as a condition of employment.

Preferred:

  • Experience working in a Medical ICF setting.

  • Experience with eVero and ADP systems.

  • Experience supervising residential programs or leading direct support teams.

  • Experience with Individual Service Plans (ISPs), Behavior Support Plans, and regulatory compliance.

Work Location

Westbury, NY

Position may require travel between assigned residential locations as needed.

Work Hours / Schedule

Full-time position.

Budgeted Hours: 40 hours per week.

Schedule may vary based on residential program needs.

The Residence Manager must be accessible by phone outside of regular work hours to respond to questions and address urgent incidents as needed.

Pay

$66,300 per year

Paid Time Off

  • Up to 80 hours of vacation during the first calendar year of employment.

  • Employees accrue an additional 8 vacation hours each subsequent calendar year, up to a maximum of 120 hours.

  • Up to 40 hours of personal time per calendar year.

  • 10 paid holidays.

Public Service Loan Forgiveness

As a non-profit organization, Community Mainstreaming Associates offers employees the opportunity to qualify for Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF), subject to applicable program eligibility requirements.
