Job Description / Desired Qualifications:
A Distribution Project Coordinator with 5 to 10 years of experience is responsible for managing and coordinating various aspects of distribution projects within a utility company. This role involves planning, scheduling, tracking, and ensuring the successful execution of projects related to the distribution of electricity, gas, or water.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Planning: Collaborate with project managers and engineers to develop project plans, timelines, and objectives for distribution projects.
  • Coordination: Serve as a central point of contact for project teams, coordinating activities and tasks, and ensuring that project milestones are met.
  • Resource Management: Allocate and monitor the use of resources, including personnel, equipment, and materials, to ensure project requirements are fulfilled.
  • Scheduling:
    • Develop project schedules, monitor progress, and identify potential delays or issues.
    • Make adjustments as necessary to keep projects on track.
  • Documentation: Maintain detailed project documentation, including records of project activities, decisions, and changes.
  • Reporting: Generate regular status reports for project stakeholders, highlighting progress, issues, and risks.
  • Communication: Facilitate effective communication among project team members and between teams and stakeholders.
  • Procurement: Assist in procurement processes, including sourcing materials, obtaining quotes, and managing vendor relationships.
  • Health and Safety: Promote a culture of safety within the project team, ensuring that all safety protocols are followed.
  • Change Management: Assist in managing project scope changes and ensuring that the appropriate approvals are obtained.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, project management, or a related field.
  • 5 to 10 years of experience in project coordination, preferably within the utility or energy sector.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including the ability to maintain project-tracking data and analyze, summarize and extract relevant information using pivot tables or other appropriate Excel functions.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to facilitate collaboration among project team members.
  • Analytical and problem-solving abilities to address project-related challenges.
  • Familiarity with utility distribution systems and relevant industry regulations.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to quality and safety.
  • Proactive and adaptable with the ability to thrive in a dynamic project environment.
