Start your first-shift morning on-site at 6:00 AM. You’ll walk the floor, check building systems, and line up preventive maintenance so production can run smoothly. Through the day, you’ll troubleshoot plumbing or HVAC issues, service floor scrubbers, forklifts, and conveyors, and jump in as the alternate Coolant Technician when needed. You’ll coach janitorial team members, keep cleaning supplies stocked, and coordinate with oil, coolant, and recycling vendors. Along the way, you’ll uphold recycling and safety programs (including lockout/tagout) and manage Storm Water Operator and Great Lakes Water Authority responsibilities to support our ISO 14001 environmental commitments. Wrap by 4:30 PM Monday–Friday, with occasional scheduled weekends.
What you will do
- Maintain and repair facility systems (plumbing, heating/cooling, general repairs) to ensure a safe, reliable workplace.
- Execute and assist with preventive maintenance on plant equipment: floor scrubbers, forklifts, and conveyors.
- Provide operations support as the alternate Coolant Technician and assist Shipping and Receiving when called upon.
- Keep external and sensitive areas clean and orderly, including parking lots, cold storage, and chemical storage areas.
- Lead, prioritize, and train janitorial staff; track and replenish cleaning supplies inventory.
- Serve as the primary liaison with oil, coolant, and recycling vendors.
- Administer Storm Water Operator and Great Lakes Water Authority requirements; follow recycling and safety programs (e.g., lockout/tagout).
- Support compliance with Quality and Environmental systems, including ISO 14001.
Schedule
First shift, Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM–4:30 PM, with weekends as scheduled.
What you bring
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- 2–3 years in facilities, general maintenance, or manufacturing environments.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with familiarity in electrical and tool room equipment.
- Self-directed, able to work independently and prioritize effectively.
- Forklift and/or man-lift experience.
- Storm Water Operator Certification.
