Job Description

Join our team as a Maintenance Technician where you will engage in multi-craft maintenance tasks, including PLC operations, welding, mechanical, and electrical work. You will be responsible for troubleshooting and repairing flat-rolled steel processing equipment such as slitters and multi-blank lines.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct multi-craft maintenance, including PLC operations, welding, mechanical, and electrical tasks.
  • Troubleshoot and repair flat-rolled steel processing equipment, including slitters and multi-blank lines.
  • Perform maintenance and preventative inspection on lift trucks.
  • Maintain and repair mechanical systems such as gear boxes, chains, sprockets, motors, seals, and bearings.
  • Troubleshoot hydraulic systems, including high-pressure cylinders, pumps, and valves.
  • Manage pneumatic systems, including solenoids, cylinders, and motor brakes.
  • Conduct pneumatic/air compression maintenance, focusing on valves and cylinders.
  • Troubleshoot and replace seals and motors in pumps, understanding specifications.
  • Handle basic electrical system repairs, including starters, fuses, contacts, and relays.
  • Engage in fabrication and welding tasks.

Essential Skills

  • At least 2 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Mechanical troubleshooting experience with systems like gear boxes, chains, sprockets, motors, seals, and bearings.
  • Electrical troubleshooting and repair experience, including 480v systems and electrical schematics.
  • Capability to maintain and repair hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • PLC troubleshooting experience, particularly with Allen Bradley systems.
  • Fabrication and welding experience.
  • Stable work history with minimal job changes.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Steel processing experience, particularly with slitter maintenance.

Work Environment

Work in a steel processing facility where coils are slit to meet customer specifications. Operate within a smaller team of approximately 25-35 employees, focusing on both reactionary and preventative repairs on equipment such as slitters, overhead cranes, forklifts, pumps, gear boxes, motors, and more. The position entails first shift hours from 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM, with occasional overtime and potential on-call duties for emergencies.

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Ottawa, OH.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $62400.00 - $72800.00/yr.
