KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    \n
  • Build & Implement Food Safety and QA Programs Develop and implement a comprehensive HACCP/HARPC plan
  • \n

  • Establish and implement GMP policies and procedures
  • \n

  • Develop food safety and quality procedures appropriate for our manufacturing operations
  • \n

  • Create QA policies, SOPs, forms, logs, records, and other documentation Establish procedures for monitoring, verification, corrective actions, and recordkeeping
  • \n

  • Develop systems for product quality and food safety testing
  • \n

  • Establish sanitation and food safety verification procedures
  • \n

  • Develop procedures for handling non-conforming product, deviations, and quality issues
  • \n

  • Develop and implement a corrective and preventive action (CAPA) system Establish procedures for product traceability and documentation
  • \n

  • Develop recall and product withdrawal procedures
  • \n

  • Establish and maintain an organized QA and food safety recordkeeping system Production-Floor Quality Assurance
  • \n

  • Conduct routine inspections of production areas, equipment, ingredients, processes, and finished products
  • \n

  • Monitor production activities for compliance with GMP and food safety requirements
  • \n

  • Perform and/or coordinate product, environmental, and other required testing Identify food safety and quality issues and take appropriate action
  • \n

  • Investigate deviations, complaints, non-conformances, and other quality issues
  • \n

  • Work directly with production employees and management to resolve problems
  • \n

  • Verify that corrective actions are properly implemented and documented
  • \n

  • Monitor production processes to ensure consistent product quality
  • \n

  • Audits & Compliance Develop an internal audit and inspection program
  • \n

  • Prepare the facility for customer, regulatory, and third-party audits
  • \n

  • Conduct internal inspections and audits
  • \n

  • Maintain required food safety and quality documentation
  • \n

  • Identify gaps in food safety and quality systems and develop plans to address them
  • \n

  • Stay current with applicable food safety regulations and industry requirements
  • \n

  • Assist management with regulatory, customer, and third-party inspections Training & Food Safety
  • \n

  • Culture Develop and implement GMP and food safety training for employees
  • \n

  • Train production employees on applicable food safety and quality procedures
  • \n

  • Maintain employee training records
  • \n

  • Promote a strong food safety and quality culture throughout the company
  • \n

  • Work with production and management to continuously improve processes
  • \n

QUALIFICATIONS

\n

    \n
  • 3+ years of experience in food manufacturing, food safety, quality assurance, or a related field Strong working knowledge of HACCP, GMP, and food safety principles
  • \n

  • Demonstrated experience developing or implementing food safety and QA programs
  • \n

  • Experience creating SOPs, forms, logs, procedures, and other quality documentation
  • \n

  • Experience conducting production-floor inspections and internal audits
  • \n

  • Experience investigating quality issues and implementing corrective actions
  • \n

  • Strong understanding of food manufacturing processes
  • \n

  • Excellent organizational and documentation skills
  • \n

  • Strong attention to detail
  • \n

  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of the QA function
  • \n

  • Ability to communicate effectively with production employees and management
  • \n

  • Comfortable working hands-on in a food manufacturing environment
  • \n

  • Spanish speaking or bilingual is a plus
  • \n

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

\n

    \n
  • $70,000–$80,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications
  • \n
