KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Build & Implement Food Safety and QA Programs Develop and implement a comprehensive HACCP/HARPC plan
- Establish and implement GMP policies and procedures
- Develop food safety and quality procedures appropriate for our manufacturing operations
- Create QA policies, SOPs, forms, logs, records, and other documentation Establish procedures for monitoring, verification, corrective actions, and recordkeeping
- Develop systems for product quality and food safety testing
- Establish sanitation and food safety verification procedures
- Develop procedures for handling non-conforming product, deviations, and quality issues
- Develop and implement a corrective and preventive action (CAPA) system Establish procedures for product traceability and documentation
- Develop recall and product withdrawal procedures
- Establish and maintain an organized QA and food safety recordkeeping system Production-Floor Quality Assurance
- Conduct routine inspections of production areas, equipment, ingredients, processes, and finished products
- Monitor production activities for compliance with GMP and food safety requirements
- Perform and/or coordinate product, environmental, and other required testing Identify food safety and quality issues and take appropriate action
- Investigate deviations, complaints, non-conformances, and other quality issues
- Work directly with production employees and management to resolve problems
- Verify that corrective actions are properly implemented and documented
- Monitor production processes to ensure consistent product quality
- Audits & Compliance Develop an internal audit and inspection program
- Prepare the facility for customer, regulatory, and third-party audits
- Conduct internal inspections and audits
- Maintain required food safety and quality documentation
- Identify gaps in food safety and quality systems and develop plans to address them
- Stay current with applicable food safety regulations and industry requirements
- Assist management with regulatory, customer, and third-party inspections Training & Food Safety
- Culture Develop and implement GMP and food safety training for employees
- Train production employees on applicable food safety and quality procedures
- Maintain employee training records
- Promote a strong food safety and quality culture throughout the company
- Work with production and management to continuously improve processes

QUALIFICATIONS
\n
- \n
- 3+ years of experience in food manufacturing, food safety, quality assurance, or a related field Strong working knowledge of HACCP, GMP, and food safety principles
- Demonstrated experience developing or implementing food safety and QA programs
- Experience creating SOPs, forms, logs, procedures, and other quality documentation
- Experience conducting production-floor inspections and internal audits
- Experience investigating quality issues and implementing corrective actions
- Strong understanding of food manufacturing processes
- Excellent organizational and documentation skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of the QA function
- Ability to communicate effectively with production employees and management
- Comfortable working hands-on in a food manufacturing environment
- Spanish speaking or bilingual is a plus

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

- $70,000–$80,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications
