Job Description

Quality Technician - Final Inspection

Every product gets one last look before it heads to a customer, and in this role that look is yours. Think of it as being the final boss, only everyone is rooting for the product to win. Our client, an established manufacturer of engineered assembled equipment, needs a Quality Technician to inspect finished units, audit production processes, and work with manufacturing and engineering to solve problems.

What you'll do

  • Inspect finished products at final checkpoints against inspection plans and engineering specifications
  • Review test records and monitor work in process to confirm it meets workmanship standards
  • Run scheduled audits of production processes and assemblies so problems get caught here, not in the field
  • Investigate quality issues, track down root causes, and document and report what you find
  • Partner with manufacturing and engineering on data gathering, fixes, and corrective actions, including documentation updates
  • Raise quality concerns with supervisors and recommend improvements to processes and product quality
  • Close out work orders in an ERP system and report units ready for final disposition

What you bring

  • Read and interpret electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic engineering drawings
  • Navigate manufacturing control plans and tell general guidelines apart from formal engineering specifications
  • Understand assembly and testing processes across multiple work centers
  • Apply a strong grasp of engineering specifications and quality requirements
  • Work independently with minimal supervision and an eye that spots a missing washer from across the room
  • Explain technical findings clearly, both in conversation and in writing
  • Support root cause investigations and corrective actions from start to finish

Good to know

This is a hands-on role on the production floor, where you will be the person checking everyone's homework, politely. The description did not include schedule, shift, or travel details, so ask your recruiter about those.
