Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Building Maintenance Technician to support the general maintenance and day-to-day operation of a commercial facility. This position is responsible for performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting building systems, responding to maintenance requests, and completing general repairs throughout the facility.
The ideal candidate will have a well-rounded general building maintenance background with hands-on experience supporting HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems. HVAC experience is preferred, particularly experience completing routine maintenance such as changing filters and belts.
Responsibilities
Perform preventative maintenance on HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and general building systems.
Perform routine HVAC maintenance, including changing filters and belts.
Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and building systems.
Respond to maintenance requests and complete repairs in a timely and efficient manner.
Inspect the building and surrounding premises for potential safety hazards and perform necessary maintenance to address identified issues.
Perform general facility and building repairs as needed.
Utilize hand and power tools to complete maintenance and repair work.
Coordinate with external contractors and vendors for specialized repairs and maintenance.
Ensure maintenance activities are completed in accordance with company policies and established safety standards.
Maintain an inventory of supplies, tools, and materials needed for maintenance and repair tasks.
Document completed preventative maintenance and repair work and maintain accurate maintenance logs.
Requirements
High School Diploma
5-7 years of building maintenance or related facilities maintenance experience.
General knowledge of HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems.
HVAC preventative maintenance experience, including filters and belts, preferred.
Ability to troubleshoot maintenance issues and perform repairs independently.
Proficiency with hand and power tools.
Strong mechanical aptitude and general maintenance skills.
Good communication and customer service skills.
Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting heavy objects and working in various conditions.
Ability to identify safety hazards and take appropriate corrective action.
