Maintenance Technician
Job Description
The Maintenance Technician works in a manufacturing plant environment and ensures that all equipment operates safely, reliably, and efficiently. This role focuses on preventive maintenance, troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues, and performing repairs on plant machinery, buildings, and grounds to support continuous production.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventive maintenance and scheduled inspections on plant equipment to minimize downtime and extend equipment life.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues on industrial machinery and systems.
- Repair machinery, fixtures, and facility equipment to restore safe and efficient operation.
- Install, remove, or modify equipment to support safe operation and production needs.
- Fabricate or build fixtures and components as needed to support maintenance and production activities.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean, organized, and efficient condition.
- Document issues, maintenance activities, and repairs accurately and clearly.
- Recommend solutions and improvements to enhance equipment performance and reliability.
- Follow safety procedures and plant policies while working on equipment, buildings, and grounds.
- Collaborate with production and other plant personnel to prioritize and complete maintenance tasks.
Essential Skills
- Industrial maintenance experience, often around 3–5+ years preferred in a manufacturing or plant environment.
- Strong mechanical skills with the ability to diagnose and repair industrial equipment.
- Knowledge of electrical systems and electrical troubleshooting in an industrial setting.
- Understanding of hydraulic systems and components.
- Experience with pneumatics and related equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, manuals, and diagrams.
- Proficiency in using hand tools and shop equipment safely and effectively.
- Capability to perform maintenance repair tasks independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to lift approximately 50 pounds and work in industrial conditions that involve physical labor.
- Willingness to work overtime and long shifts as needed to support plant operations.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Welding or fabrication experience (preferred).
- Forklift certification (preferred).
- Experience performing preventive maintenance programs in an industrial environment.
- Familiarity with documenting maintenance activities and communicating recommendations for improvements.

Work Environment
The role is based in an indoor and outdoor manufacturing plant environment where conditions reflect the weather; it will be hot when temperatures are high and cold when temperatures are low. The position involves heavy manual labor, including frequent bending, standing, lifting, and repetitive tasks throughout the day. Workdays are long and physically demanding, so candidates should be prepared for sustained, hands-on work. The schedule is primarily first shift, starting at 7:00 a.m. and typically running 10–12 hours per day, Monday through Friday, with plans to expand to Monday through Saturday. Employees receive a 30-minute lunch break and two 15-minute breaks during the shift. Steel-toed shoes and met guards are required as part of the dress code, and all other personal protective equipment is provided.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $35.00/hr.
