We are looking for an Apartment Maintenance Technician to fill an immediate opening at our multiple properties in the Capital and Mid-Hudson Valley Regions. The qualified candidate will have at least two years of related experience, including assessing and making repairs from work orders, apartment turnovers, painting, cleaning, maintaining property grounds, and snow removal. Critical components of this position are the ability to work on-call, execute high-quality work with attention to detail, and a genuine interest in serving the client, residents, and fellow employees.

Duties

• Assist with construction projects or upgrades that enhance property value and resident satisfaction.
• Perform routine and preventive maintenance on HVAC systems, refrigeration units, kitchen equipment, and other mechanical systems to ensure optimal performance.
• Diagnose and repair appliances such as refrigerators, dishwashers, ovens, and laundry machines using schematics and technical manuals.
• Conduct appliance installation, troubleshooting, and repairs with precision to meet safety standards.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests from residents or property management to resolve issues efficiently.

Skills

• Extensive experience with appliance repair and mechanical systems repair across various equipment types.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC & appliance technology, including HVAC system repair and air conditioning maintenance.
• Ability to read schematics and technical manuals for troubleshooting complex mechanical or electrical issues.
• Proven experience in refrigeration, kitchen equipment maintenance, and HVAC/R systems.
• Excellent customer service skills with a focus on clear communication and problem resolution.
• Familiarity with maintenance, repair & operations (MRO), construction processes, and equipment repair techniques.
• Valid driver’s license with experience operating company vehicles safely; leadership qualities are a plus for mentoring junior team members.
