Our client is looking for a Sr. Technical Risk Advisor. This position is a direct hire and will require candidates local to the DFW area as it is a hybrid in office/remote role.
The ideal candidate has a strong hands-on background in network, infrastructure, platform, or security engineering and has expanded into architecture reviews, technical risk, consulting, or security leadership. This individual must be comfortable working deeply with engineers while also translating technical findings into clear business implications for executives.
Responsibilities
- Review system architecture, infrastructure, dependencies, and data flows.
- Assess network segmentation, security controls, APIs, CI/CD, resilience, availability, and distributed systems.
- Partner with engineering teams early in the project lifecycle to identify technical and operational risks.
- Evaluate integrations, system boundaries, third-party dependencies, and engineering delivery practices.
- Use data, modern tooling, and AI-assisted analysis to identify weaknesses and emerging risks.
- Develop practical, evidence-based recommendations to strengthen systems and technical execution.
- Translate complex technical findings into clear recommendations for technical and executive stakeholders.
- Support the continued development of modern technology risk assessment practices.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in an IT-related field.
- Strong hands-on experience in network, infrastructure, platform, security, or related engineering environments.
- Solid understanding of segmentation, firewalls, APIs, CI/CD, resilience, availability, and distributed architectures.
- Experience evaluating technical architecture, engineering practices, or technology risk.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with both engineers and executive leadership.
Preferred Background
- Platform engineering, infrastructure engineering, network/security engineering, or similar technical experience.
- Experience transitioning into architecture assessment, technical risk, advisory, or security leadership.
- Technical consulting experience within a large professional services organization is valued.
- Exposure to AI and emerging technologies.
