Job Title: Multi-Craft Maintenance Technician
Job Description
This 1st shift Multi-Craft Maintenance Technician role focuses on performing advanced mechanical and electrical troubleshooting and repairs on a wide range of industrial production equipment. You will support powder coating, painting, stamping, roll forming, CNC laser cutting, welding, and material handling systems, ensuring equipment reliability and uptime in a large, clean, and well-organized manufacturing facility.
Responsibilities
- Perform mechanical and electrical troubleshooting and repairs on powder coating equipment, painting equipment, stamping equipment, roll forming equipment, and conveyors.
- Maintain and repair CNC Trumpf lasers, 50700 ton presses, ovens, saws, slotters, manual welders, and Fanuc robotic welders.
- Diagnose and resolve electrical issues up to 480V 3-phase, ensuring safe and effective repairs.
- Read and interpret blueprints, hydraulic schematics, pneumatic schematics, and electrical schematics to identify issues and plan corrective actions.
- Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic and pneumatic systems associated with presses and other production equipment.
- Support PLC troubleshooting activities to identify control system faults and restore proper operation.
- Perform troubleshooting and maintenance on Fanuc robotic systems used for welding and other automated processes.
- Use personal tools and standard maintenance equipment to complete repairs, adjustments, and preventive maintenance tasks.
- Collaborate with production and engineering teams to minimize downtime and improve equipment performance.
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to safety by following all safety procedures and maintaining a clean and organized work area.
- Continuously develop technical skills and knowledge, showing willingness to learn new technologies and processes.
Essential Skills
- Minimum of 4+ years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
- Proven mechanical troubleshooting experience with presses or stamping equipment.
- Strong electrical troubleshooting skills, including work on systems up to 480V 3-phase.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, hydraulic schematics, pneumatic schematics, and electrical schematics.
- Experience performing maintenance and repairs on a variety of industrial equipment such as presses, conveyors, welders, ovens, and CNC machinery.
- Capability to work safely with high-voltage electrical systems and complex mechanical assemblies.
- Demonstrated willingness to continue learning and expanding technical skill sets.
- Must provide and use own tools for daily maintenance work.

Work Environment
The role is based in a very large, bright, clean, and organized manufacturing facility with a massive maintenance and tooling/department shop. Some areas, particularly those with stamping equipment, can be loud, and appropriate hearing protection and adherence to safety guidelines are expected. The position is on 1st shift, Monday through Thursday, from 5:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., providing a consistent schedule with long weekends. You will work around a variety of industrial technologies, including powder coating lines, painting systems, stamping and roll forming equipment, CNC Trumpf lasers, presses, conveyors, ovens, saws, slotters, manual welders, and Fanuc robotic welders. Uniforms are provided if desired, supporting a practical and professional dress standard suitable for an industrial maintenance environment.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Middlebury, IN.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $26.42 - $36.16/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
