As the senior welder in our Coil Department, you’re the go-to pro for diagnosing and repairing coil leaks, guiding teammates on quality standards, and turning lessons learned into better procedures. You will be the hands-on mentor for junior mechanics while ensuring our coil quality metrics are always accurate and visible.

  • Champion a safety-first culture—model safe behaviors, enforce rules, and use proper PPE at all times.
  • Test coils at the tank, pinpoint leaks, perform precise leak repairs, and move completed work to the next operation.
  • Update and post key metrics (leak rates, coil quality traveler) and keep the coil proficiency log with comments and actions.
  • Train and mentor mechanics; share lessons learned and implement process improvements.
  • Conduct daily reviews of scheduled work to meet production commitments.
  • Validate the Quality metric report and resolve discrepancies with Team Lead and Station Lead.
  • Interpret work tickets, complete daily ISO documentation, and uphold 5S standards.
  • Collaborate with Team Leads, Inspectors, and Supply Chain to keep workflow smooth and predictable.
  • Support ongoing training for safety, quality/ISO procedures, production goals, and equipment cross-training.
  • Drive LEAN principles; spot waste, reduce variation, and standardize best practices.
  • Advance safety performance—report near misses, hit safety metrics, and eliminate hazards.
  • Progress sustainability—minimize waste, maximize recycling, and reduce energy and water use.
  • Innovate—turn fresh ideas into better methods, systems, and results.
  • Tackle additional duties as assigned by plant leadership.
