What you’ll be doing

\n
« Lead daily maintenance and engineering operations across guest rooms, public spaces, back-of-house areas, and hotel facilities.
\n
« Oversee preventative maintenance programs, work orders, repairs, troubleshooting, and operational readiness across the property.
\n
« Support HVAC, plumbing, electrical, painting, carpentry, appliance repair, and general building maintenance operations.
\n
« Supervise, train, coach, schedule, and support maintenance team members and vendors to ensure operational efficiency and property standards are maintained.
\n
« Respond promptly and professionally to guest maintenance requests, operational concerns, and emergency repair situations.
\n
« Conduct regular inspections of hotel facilities, equipment, mechanical systems, and operational areas to identify maintenance and safety needs proactively.
\n
« Partner closely with Housekeeping, Front Office, Operations, and hotel leadership teams to support seamless guest experiences and hotel operations.
\n
« Monitor maintenance inventory, operational supplies, vendor relationships, purchasing activity, and departmental expenses to support operational efficiency and cost control.
\n
« Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, fire safety requirements, preventative maintenance schedules, brand standards, and hotel operational policies.
\n
« Maintain accurate work orders, maintenance logs, inspections, compliance documentation, and operational reporting records.
\n
« Support renovations, capital improvement projects, room refreshes, deep cleaning initiatives, and hotel improvement projects as needed.
\n
« Help foster a collaborative, service-focused, and operationally driven culture aligned with Sonesta’s People People philosophy.

« Any other duties as assigned.

What great looks like
\n
\n
« Previous engineering, maintenance, facilities, hotel operations, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, or building operations experience preferred.
\n
« Previous leadership or supervisory experience within hospitality engineering or facilities operations preferred.
\n
« Strong knowledge of preventative maintenance programs, HVAC systems, plumbing, electrical systems, painting, carpentry, appliance repair, and general building maintenance.
\n
« Ability to troubleshoot maintenance concerns and complete repairs efficiently, safely, and professionally.
\n
« Strong communication, organizational, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
\n
« Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced hospitality environment.
\n
« Knowledge of OSHA regulations, fire safety standards, building systems, and maintenance compliance procedures preferred.
\n
« Experience using work order systems, hotel operational platforms, maintenance tracking software, or reporting tools preferred.
\n
« Flexible availability including evenings, weekends, holidays, and on-call operational support as needed.
\n
