Job Description
Blue Purpose is seeking a skilled Software Engineer with strong C#/.NET and SQL Server experience to join our IT team as a full-time software engineer. This role builds and extends our multi-tenant SaaS platform for skilled nursing (SNF) and long-term care (LTC) operators.
\n
\n
The right candidate will have a solid background in software design using SOLID principles, hands-on depth in relational data and reporting, and the judgment required to work with HIPAA-regulated datasets containing Protected Health Information (PHI). Healthcare industry knowledge, long-term care, or post-acute experience is a significant advantage.

- Using AI tools to improve the entire Software Development Life Cycle.
- Using Azure DevOps to track deployments to production, and participate in the code review process before new code is released.
- A suite of internal .NET 10 Blazor applications built on public CMS datasets for market intelligence, quality benchmarking, and customer success.

C#/.NET Qualifications
\n
- \n
- Proficiency in C# and modern .NET.
- Production experience with Blazor Server — component design, render-path performance, state management, and interactivity.
- Experience with a Blazor component library such as Radzen, Telerik, or Syncfusion.
- Experience building and consuming RESTful Web APIs (ASP.NET Web API); SOAP/WCF exposure
- Working knowledge of both micro-ORM/ADO.NET data access and Entity Framework Core.
- Solid grasp of SOLID principles, dependency injection, async/await, and unit and integration testing.

Data and Database Qualifications
\n
- \n
- Advanced T-SQL — stored procedures with typed parameters, views, indexing strategy, execution-plan reading, and query tuning at scale. Our standing convention is stored procedures over inline SQL.
- Microsoft SQL Server and Azure SQL Database, including elastic pools and multi-tenant topologies.
- Query optimization against read-only sources where indexes cannot be added — sargability, staged temp tables, and set-based rewrites.
- ETL development with SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) and SQL Agent, including full-reload and incremental/watermark load patterns.
- Azure Data Factory pipeline development; exposure to Snowflake as a source system is a plus.
- Designing and maintaining reporting and warehouse schemas that directly feed analytics screens.
\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
Azure and DevOps Qualifications
\n
- \n
- Azure App Service, Key Vault, Blob Storage, Application Insights, and Front Door/WAF.
- Microsoft Entra ID and Azure AD B2C, managed identities, and App Service Authentication (Easy Auth).
- Azure DevOps — Repos, Boards, and both YAML and classic release pipelines; Git branch policies and pull-request workflow.
- Ability to diagnose production issues across the application, database, and data-pipeline layers.
\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
Healthcare Domain and Compliance
\n
- \n
- Demonstrated experience building software that handles PHI under HIPAA
- Understanding of EHR data models and clinical, financial, and operational workflows.
- Long-term care and skilled nursing domain knowledge are highly desirable.
- Familiarity with CMS submission channels and quality datasets.
\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
\n
AI Integration and Modern Development Practices
\n
- \n
- Experience integrating large language model APIs into production applications — structured output, prompt caching, batch processing, result caching, and cost control.
- Understanding of how to keep regulated data out of AI pipelines through de-identification
\n
\n
\n
\n
Preferred Qualifications
\n
- \n
- Prior engineering work at a long-term care, skilled nursing, or post-acute software vendor.
- HL7 v2, HL7 FHIR (US Core/USCDI), 837I institutional claims, or NCPDP/EPCS experience
- Exposure to ONC Health IT Certification requirements.
- Experience building or maintaining rules engines, or configuration driven by a domain-specific language.
- Document generation and OCR work — Open XML, PDF libraries, or Tesseract.
- Experience supporting a multi-tenant SaaS product through client onboarding and tenant rollouts.
