Location: Central Region (based at Advanced Laser Materials (ALM) Lab located in Temple, Texas when not in the field).

We are seeking a motivated Project Engineer – Field Support to join our team at the Advanced Laser Materials (ALM) Lab in Temple, Texas.
\n
This role is ideal for an engineer who enjoys a mix of hands-on troubleshooting, mechanical design, equipment upgrades, prototyping, and field support. The position combines approximately 50% engineering project work and 50% field service support, providing opportunities to work directly on industrial equipment both in the lab and at customer sites. When not supporting customers in the field, the engineer will work alongside the ALM and service teams on equipment improvements, system upgrades, testing, documentation, prototyping, and product support initiatives. This is a hands-on engineering role rather than a management, program leadership, or research-focused position.

Responsibilities

- Install equipment at customer facilities to ensure full functionality according to EOS specifications.
- Provide on-site and remote technical support to troubleshoot and repair equipment.•Perform preventive maintenance procedures within scheduled timelines.
- Support engineering projects including system upgrades, equipment retrofits, product improvements, testing, validation, and documentation.
- Actively contributes to engineering development, prototyping, and validation activities at the ALM Lab when not deployed in the field.
- Collaborate with engineering and product management teams on project execution and issue resolution.
- Develop and maintain project-related documentation, timelines, and status updates.
- Support customer-specific engineering initiatives, including validation, testing, and optimization activities.
- Assist with training, documentation development, trade show support, and exhibition installations.
- Ensure timely and accurate submission of all service and project documentation in accordance with EOS procedures.
- Manage service tools and spare parts inventory, ensuring accurate tracking of company assets.

Your Talents
\n
- \n
- Associate's or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Engineering Technology, or a related technical field.
- 2–5 years of engineering, manufacturing, automation, industrial equipment support, or field service experience.
- 3+ years of SolidWorks experience, including part modeling, assemblies, and engineering drawings (required).•Experience troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and electromechanical systems.
- Experience with Rockwell Studio 5000 and Allen-Bradley PLC systems, including troubleshooting, program navigation, I/O diagnostics, and system-level fault analysis (required).
- Ability to read engineering drawings, electrical schematics, and technical documentation.
- Strong hands-on aptitude with mechanical assembly, equipment modifications, testing, and troubleshooting.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office, and basic networking concepts.•Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Professional communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Willingness to travel up to 50%, including occasional international travel.
- Valid driver's license and passport.
