Job Description✈️ Model the Future of Aerospace Propulsion as a Lead Systems Engineer With PDS Tech!

Pay Rate: $80.75/hr

We’re seeking a highly experienced Lead Systems Engineer to join a leading aerospace engineering team focused on gas turbine engine modeling and analysis. In this role, you’ll be responsible for developing and maintaining advanced NPSS (Numerical Propulsion System Simulation) models that support engine design and performance across commercial and military platforms.

This is a high-impact role ideal for engineers with deep expertise in thermodynamics, performance modeling, and transient operability.

Core Expertise Required

  • Advanced experience with NPSS modeling for gas turbine engines

  • Strong background in steady-state performance and transient operability modeling

  • Deep understanding of gas turbine thermodynamics and physics

What You’ll Do Modeling & Simulation

  • Build, debug, refine, and maintain steady-state and transient thermal models using NPSS

  • Develop customer-facing NPSS engine models

  • Analyze engine behavior across performance and operability conditions

Engineering Analysis & Development

  • Perform requirements analysis and decomposition for engine systems

  • Support engine definition across all phases of New Product Introduction (NPI)

  • Solve complex engineering problems related to engine performance and operability

Collaboration & Communication

  • Present technical findings through reports and presentations to leadership and customers

  • Collaborate across cross-functional engineering teams

  • Share knowledge and mentor team members on NPSS modeling techniques

Digital Engineering & MBSE

  • Support integration of NPSS models into Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) environments

  • Interface with tools such as Cameo to enhance system-level modeling and traceability

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical discipline

  • 7+ years of experience in gas turbine engine performance and operability modeling

  • Strong expertise in:

    • NPSS modeling (5+ years preferred)

    • Steady-state performance modeling

    • Transient operability modeling

  • Deep knowledge of gas turbine thermodynamics and system behavior

Desired Skills

  • Experience integrating NPSS with MBSE tools (e.g., Cameo)

  • Strong mentoring and knowledge-sharing abilities

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple complex tasks

  • Proven track record of solving advanced engineering challenges

What Makes You a Strong Fit

  • Expert-level understanding of engine cycle modeling and simulation

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to thrive in a model-based engineering environment

  • Passion for aerospace propulsion and technical excellence

Why Join This Opportunity?

  • Work on next-generation gas turbine engine technologies

  • High-impact role influencing design, performance, and operability

  • Opportunity to work with advanced simulation tools and MBSE environments

  • Collaborative environment with top aerospace engineering talent

  • Competitive pay aligned with specialized expertise
