We are currently seeking a Project Manager focusing on logistics and procurement to join our Auburn, California office. This Project Manager position requires the ability to:

  • Effectively lead a project team past CD
  • Effectively interface with clients, hospital executives, staff, and vendors
  • Travel extensively to client meetings and project sites
  • Accurately track tasks to ensure deliverables are met on time
  • Ability to backwards plan to develop a procurement schedule
  • Execute a strategic plan
  • Facilitate large- and small-scale purchases while exhibiting sound judgement and strong critical thinking skills


This position entails travel to project sites, satellite offices, client offices, conferences and team training. The selected candidate must comply with all confidentiality policies set forth by Criterion.


General Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree (PMP, EDAC, LEED, LEAN, MPM, MBA and/or other relevant certifications are a plus)
  • A minimum of 5-7 years’ experience in procurement, supply chain, and/or warehouse operations
  • Solid understanding of construction lifecycle and MEP coordination requirements
  • Excellent customer service skills and the ability to interface effectively with executive-level clients and project team members
  • Knowledge of creating/maintaining procurement schedules
  • Knowledge of healthcare industry, such as clinical procedures and departmental workflows, is preferred
  • Knowledge of architecture and construction industry, including the ability to interpret architectural plans and construction schedules, is a plus
  • Ability to create, maintain and analyze a project budget
  • Ability to multitask and maintain composure in high-pressure situations
  • Ability to maintain a professional demeanor when communicating among colleagues, business partners and clients
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Knowledge of Attainia is a plus
  • Knowledge of Smartsheets and building dashboards is a plus
  • Flexibility to at times work outside normal business hours

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to travel to project sites, occasionally for extended periods with overnight stays
  • Ability to walk distances as well as bend, squat and/or reach
  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time during intensive work sessions
  • Ability to lift and move packages up to 50 pounds

Leadership Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership to project team in tracking and executing all procurement and logistics activities
  • Nurture client relationships with the goal of ensuring client satisfaction and securing new project opportunities
  • Provide support to Director of Procurement & Activation
  • Provide mentorship, coaching and guidance to junior team members
  • Proactively manage client expectations and provide solutions to challenges when appropriate

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Support the applicable Director with oversight of the project schedule, work plan and staffing plan, ensuring team member participation in all required meetings, walk-throughs, etc.
  • Manage end-to-end supply chain process including equipment validations, RFQs, PO issuance and vendor follow-up
  • Provide supervision to procurement team members to ensure quality completion of assigned tasks
  • Maintain resource loaded workplans to ensure team members are meeting utilization goals and staying within budget
  • Coordinate with client, project team and general contractor to develop comprehensive procurement schedule for all OFOI, OFCI, and OFVI equipment
  • Coordinate schedule and logistics with warehouse vendor in preparation of receiving equipment at the jobsite
  • Develop processes, procedures and best practices for daily procurement and logistics tasks
  • Maintain procurement tracker and dashboard to provide live updates of material status
  • Track, address and resolve documented owner-requested changes and action items related to medical equipment list and drawings
  • Coordinate and oversee the delivery and installation of medical equipment based on the plans for each floor, department and room
  • Assist with final punch list and corrective action plan to ensure all equipment is set in place, installed, and operating properly
  • Coordinate equipment returns and damaged items with Client and Criterion procurement team
  • Assist with coordinating with vendors, Client and contractor to ensure equipment is tested and commissioned and operating prior to final acceptance
  • Obtain client approval and sign-off on medical equipment deliveries and installations
  • Obtain and turnover final installation certifications, warranty documents and operations and maintenance documentation to owner upon project close-out
  • Assist with existing equipment inventories and asset tagging, when required
  • Attend industry-specific conferences and trade shows when requested
  • Attend lunch & learn presentations, tours and other secondary learning opportunities, when available
  • Cross train into other aspects of the business
