A well-established manufacturing organization is seeking an experienced Third Shift Superintendent to lead overnight operations in a fast-paced production environment. This is a hands-on leadership opportunity for someone who can drive production performance, lead teams effectively, and maintain a strong focus on safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
What You’ll Do
- Provide overall leadership and direction for third-shift manufacturing operations.
- Lead, coach, and develop supervisors, team leads, and production employees.
- Ensure production schedules and daily operational goals are achieved safely and efficiently.
- Monitor staffing levels, workflow, productivity, downtime, and overall shift performance.
- Partner with maintenance, quality, engineering, and other departments to resolve operational issues.
- Maintain a strong focus on workplace safety and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Drive accountability for quality standards and production requirements.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement, waste reduction, and increased efficiency.
- Review production reports and communicate shift performance, challenges, and priorities to leadership.
- Address employee performance concerns and help foster a positive, accountable team culture.
- Ensure proper shift handoffs and communication between departments and leadership teams.
- Respond effectively to unexpected production, equipment, staffing, or safety challenges.
What We’re Looking For
- Previous leadership experience in a manufacturing, industrial, foundry, metals, or heavy production environment strongly preferred.
- Experience leading large teams and/or multiple supervisors.
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing operations, production processes, safety, and quality standards.
- Proven ability to lead teams, solve problems, and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Comfortable working independently and taking ownership of overnight operations.
- Experience with continuous improvement, Lean manufacturing, or process improvement initiatives is a plus.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
