This multi-craft Maintenance Technician role focuses on keeping complex corrugated box production equipment and facility systems operating safely, efficiently, and reliably. You will troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues, perform preventive maintenance, and support facilities maintenance to ensure consistent uptime in a clean, climate-controlled manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and repair production equipment, including large corrugated box machines with hydraulic components, sensors, and various conveyor systems.
  • Ensure all production equipment operates safely and efficiently, minimizing downtime and supporting continuous production.
  • Perform mechanical troubleshooting on complex machinery, identifying root causes and implementing effective repairs.
  • Perform electrical troubleshooting, including work on three-phase motors and related electrical components.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical documentation to diagnose and resolve equipment issues.
  • Use a voltmeter and other diagnostic tools to test electrical systems and components accurately and safely.
  • Execute preventive maintenance (PM) tasks according to a defined PM schedule on production equipment and facility systems.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance on facility systems, including HVAC systems, dock doors, and other building-related equipment.
  • Support ongoing facilities maintenance needs, addressing issues promptly to maintain a safe and reliable work environment.
  • Collaborate with other maintenance and production team members to prioritize work, coordinate repairs, and support production goals.
  • Document maintenance activities, repairs, and PM tasks to maintain accurate records and support continuous improvement.
  • Follow all safety procedures and best practices while working on mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.

Essential Skills

  • Proven experience as a maintenance technician in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
  • Strong electrical troubleshooting skills, including experience with three-phase motors and industrial electrical systems.
  • Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills on complex production machinery.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings.
  • Ability to use a voltmeter safely and effectively for electrical diagnostics.
  • Hands-on experience with hydraulics and pneumatic systems in an industrial setting.
  • Experience performing preventive maintenance and working from a PM schedule.
  • Familiarity with PLCs and basic understanding of how they interact with production equipment.
  • Ability to troubleshoot using schematics, blueprints, and equipment documentation.
  • Experience with maintenance repair and industrial maintenance tasks across multiple disciplines (mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic).

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Previous experience in corrugated box or similar packaging manufacturing environments is beneficial.
  • Familiarity with flexo folder gluers or similar converting equipment is an advantage.
  • Experience working with conveyors and material handling systems.
  • Comfort working around large, automated production machinery with multiple integrated components.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Effective communication skills to coordinate with production and other maintenance team members.
  • Attention to detail and a proactive approach to preventive maintenance and equipment reliability.

Work Environment

This role is based in a super clean, climate-controlled manufacturing facility that handles a high volume of cardboard and corrugated materials. The position follows a weekend schedule on 1st shift, working from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, for a total of 24 hours worked with pay equivalent to 40 hours. The environment includes large corrugated box machines, hydraulic systems, conveyors, sensors, and associated industrial equipment, as well as facility systems such as HVAC and dock doors. Team members follow safety standards and are required to wear jeans and steel-toe footwear while on the production floor.

The pay range for this position is $52000.00 - $52000.00/yr.
