Job Description: Chief Information Security Officer (CISO)

Position Type: Contract
Work Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
Hours: 40 hours per week
Candidate Location: Local candidates only

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) to lead and oversee the organization’s information security strategy, governance, risk management, and cybersecurity operations. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills and extensive experience protecting enterprise systems, managing security risks, ensuring regulatory compliance, and responding to security incidents. Previous public sector experience is highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement enterprise-wide information security strategies and policies.
• Oversee cybersecurity governance, risk management, and compliance initiatives.
• Lead incident response, threat management, and security operations.
• Identify security vulnerabilities and implement risk mitigation measures.
• Ensure compliance with applicable security standards and regulations.
• Collaborate with executive leadership, IT teams, and stakeholders to strengthen security.
• Lead security awareness initiatives and continuous improvement efforts.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a senior cybersecurity leadership role, preferably as a CISO or equivalent.
• Strong knowledge of information security strategy, governance, risk management, and compliance.
• Experience managing incident response and enterprise security operations.
• Familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks and regulatory requirements.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and strategic decision-making skills.
• Previous public sector experience is a strong plus.

Work Schedule

This is a full-time contract engagement requiring 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
