Job DescriptionPosition Summary:We are seeking a skilled and dependable Streets Maintenance Worker to support the ongoing maintenance and improvement of the City's roadway infrastructure. This role is responsible for performing a wide range of hands-on work including street and sidewalk repair, signage installation, and pavement marking. The ideal candidate brings practical experience, strong problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to delivering high-quality work that keeps our community safe and running smoothly.Normal Shift: 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.Key Responsibilities:Street and Sidewalk Maintenance: Engage in general labor tasks including asphalt paving, concrete repair, joint and crack sealing, street sign fabrication and installation, and pavement marking.Traffic Control: Set up and manage work zones and roadway traffic control to ensure safety and compliance.Equipment Operation: Operate and perform minor maintenance on light and heavy equipment, power tools, and motorized equipment. Operate vehicles up to and including Class "B" CDL size with air brakes.Snow Removal: Participate in snow removal activities to keep streets and public areas accessible and safe.Minimum Requirements:Must be a U.S. citizen or lawfully authorized alien worker.High School graduate or GED certificate.One (1) year of applicable experience.Must have a Class "B" CDL valid in the state of Missouri or obtain within 120 days of employment. Commercial drivers' instruction permit (CDIP) must be obtained within 60 days of employment.Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. and occasionally lift and/or move more than 90 lbs.Why Join Us:At the City of St. Peters, we Play a crucial role in maintaining and improving the infrastructure of our community.
