We are seeking a hybrid Software Development Manager to lead application development and systems integration for a growing healthcare organization in the Pittsburgh area. In this role, you will balance hands on development with technical leadership, building and supporting the applications, integrations, and automation that help the business operate efficiently. You will also oversee development environments and release processes, partnering closely with business leaders and technical teams. This position is a full time, direct hire opportunity with a hybrid schedule.

This role is well suited for a senior developer or technical lead who still enjoys writing code and is ready to take ownership of a development function. The ideal candidate brings strong experience building enterprise applications in a modern cloud environment, a disciplined approach to software delivery, and the communication skills to turn business needs into practical technical solutions. Healthcare experience is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities:
\n

- Design, build, and support custom applications, APIs, and automation that improve operational workflows and reporting
- Develop and maintain integrations between internal platforms, databases, and third party applications
- Partner with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into scalable technical solutions
- Lead development efforts from requirements and design through coding, testing, deployment, and production support
- Oversee development, testing, staging, and production environments, including upgrades and deployments
- Establish and maintain source control practices, CI/CD pipelines, and software development lifecycle standards
- Manage cloud based development and data platforms in partnership with infrastructure and security teams
- Coordinate with vendors and technology partners on enhancements, priorities, and issue resolution
- Troubleshoot application, integration, and data issues and provide technical guidance to business users
- Explore opportunities to apply AI and automation to improve efficiency
- Mentor developers and engineers and help leadership prioritize technical initiatives
- Maintain clear technical documentation and development standards

Qualifications:
\n
- \n
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience
- 7+ years of experience in software development and systems integration
- 3+ years of experience leading technical initiatives or mentoring developers and engineers
- Strong hands on experience with an object oriented programming language such as C#, Java, or Python
- Advanced SQL skills and experience working with relational databases
- Experience building and integrating REST APIs and web services
- Experience with a major cloud platform such as Microsoft Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud
- Experience managing Git based source control, CI/CD pipelines, and release processes using tools such as Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or Jenkins
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work across technical and business teams
- Must reside within commuting distance of Pittsburgh, PA

Preferred Qualifications:

- Experience with data integration and ETL tools

Salary Range:
\n
The salary range for this position is approximately $115,000 to $140,000 annually ($55.29 to $67.31 per hour), based on experience and qualifications.
