Job Description

Rotational Development Program

\n

Program Overview

\n

The Rotational Development Program is designed to develop future contributors and leaders across engineering, project management, shop operations, and field support by providing broad exposure to the major functions involved in Steam Turbine and Generator (STG) service, repair, and project execution. Participants rotate through all four functional areas over approximately one year before final placement is determined. This structure allows each participant to gain practical understanding of how TAES plans, engineers, executes, manufactures, and supports customer projects before transitioning into a permanent assignment.

\n

Program Structure

\n

The rotational program consists of four functional-area assignments completed over approximately twelve months. Each participant rotates through Engineering, Project Management, Shop Operations, and Field Support before final placement is determined at the end of the program.

\n

Project Management Rotation

\n

    \n
  • Participate in the planning and execution of turbine and generator service projects.
  • \n

  • Learn project management workflows, scheduling, budgeting, risk management, and customer coordination.
  • \n

  • Collaborate with engineering, shop operations, and field service teams while developing customer-facing project execution experience.
  • \n

\n

Shop Operations Rotation

\n

    \n
  • Support planning and execution of shop-based repair and refurbishment activities.
  • \n

  • Learn manufacturing, assembly, maintenance, and quality assurance processes.
  • \n

  • Develop practical understanding of components, tools, repair techniques, safety, productivity, and quality requirements.
  • \n

\n

Engineering Rotation

\n

    \n
  • Receive hands-on exposure to turbine and/ or generator engineering support, including inspection planning, technical evaluation, troubleshooting, testing, and repair development and documentation.
  • \n

  • Work with engineering personnel to understand how technical decisions support safe, high-quality, and commercially effective project execution for project management and shop operations partners.
  • \n

  • Develop a working understanding of how engineering interfaces with project management, shop operations, field service, commercial, quality, and customer-facing teams.
  • \n

\n

Field Support Rotation

\n

    \n
  • Participate in a site-based outage to understand how Field Support is responsible for executing the outage and delivering the completed project at the customer site.
  • \n

  • Gain practical exposure to customer site expectations, work sequencing, safety requirements, field documentation, shift coverage, and communication needs during outage execution.
  • \n

\n

Field Support Schedule Note: The Field Support rotation will require travel to customer sites during outages, day or night shift assignments, extended work hours, and work up to seven days per week.

\n

Post-Program Placement

\n

Participants complete the full rotational program before final placement is determined. Following successful completion, TAES will assign each participant to a permanent role based on business needs, participant strengths, performance during the rotations, demonstrated fit, and available opportunities across engineering, project management, shop operations, and field support.

\n

Ideal Candidate Profile

\n

    \n
  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or related technical or operational discipline.
  • \n

  • Strong mechanical and/or electrical aptitude.
  • \n

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including technical documentation and report writing.
  • \n

  • Interest in power generation equipment, engineering support, manufacturing, shop operations, project execution, field service operations, and customer support.
  • \n

  • Willingness to travel.
  • \n

  • Ability to learn quickly, collaborate effectively across functions, and adapt to changing business needs before final placement.
  • \n

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools. Exposure to document management systems, project tools, CAD, or other related analysis software is beneficial.
  • \n
