Position Overview

The Senior Crew Lead is responsible for overseeing all aspects of drywall finishing projects, ensuring that work is completed to the highest quality standards while managing the crew effectively. The Senior Crew Lead serves as the primary point of contact for project coordination and communication with the Field Operations Manager. This role includes providing leadership, training, and support to the crew, as well as ensuring compliance with safety regulations and company policies.

Core Responsibilities

  • Act as the main point of contact for the Field Operations Manager, providing project updates and addressing any concerns

  • Oversee the recording of time and materials used on each job

  • Coordinate tasks and delegate responsibilities among crew members

  • Support crew members with training and mentorship

  • Repair imperfections using sanding, drywall mud, and/or tape

  • Smooth rough surfaces with sanding blocks

  • Ensure quality workmanship on every project

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment

  • Lead and manage drywall finishing projects from start to finish, ensuring timely completion and quality standards are met

  • Care for and maintain provided tools and equipment, ensuring they are in good working order

  • Handle any issues or conflicts that arise within the crew, promoting a positive team atmosphere

  • Perform daily checks to ensure tires are in good condition and monitor for any leaks.

  • Load and unload materials, equipment, and tools

  • Prepare wet compound for use on projects

  • Measure, cut, position, and secure drywall sheets as needed

  • Other related duties and tasks as assigned

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bilingual: Able to communicate effectively in both English and Spanish

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must be 18 years of age or older

  • Must have the legal right to work in the United States

  • Noteworthy leadership abilities in coordinating team activities and guiding crew members

  • Proven ability in mentoring or training junior team members in drywall finishing techniques

  • Highly skilled in hanging, taping, texturing, and finishing drywall, demonstrating advanced knowledge that distinguishes you as a top expert in the trade

  • Meticulous focus to detail

  • Guides and motivates team members while excelling in independent roles, fostering a productive and cohesive work environment

  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills

  • Expertise in reading and understanding blueprints and safety guidelines

  • Open availability to work an 8 hr shift between 8am and 5pm, Monday through Friday

  • Valid driver’s license

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs without assistance

  • Must be able to stand and/or walk for up to 4 hours at a time

  • Must be able to travel in a vehicle up to 2 hours at a time

  • Must be able to operate power/hand tools

  • Able to work in houses that do not yet have any heating or air conditioning installed year round

  • Must be able to safely use ladders, stilts, and/or scaffolding to reach high places

  • Manual dexterity, eye-hand coordination, physical fitness, and good sense of balance

  • Bending and stooping
