Job Description

Assistant Project Manager

\n

📍 Downtown Chicago, IL

\n

🏗️ Real Estate Developer | High-Rise & Commercial Construction | Local Projects

\n

\n

We're partnered with a well-established Chicago real estate Developer that's looking to add an Assistant Project Manager to its growing construction team.

\n

\n

What makes this opportunity unique is the company's involvement throughout the entire real estate lifecycle — they develop, build, and lease their own properties. This gives the construction team greater visibility into how projects come together and the opportunity to work closely with the people making the key development and ownership decisions.

\n

\n

The majority of their portfolio consists of ground-up multifamily and high-rise developments, but the team also delivers commercial interiors, hospitality, restaurant, data center, and other specialty projects. It's a great opportunity for an APM who wants exposure to larger developments without being limited to a single project type.

\n

\n

There's also plenty to look forward to. The company has several exciting projects underway, multiple future phases already planned, and additional developments in the pipeline, creating strong long-term stability and plenty of opportunity to grow alongside the business.

\n

\n

What You'll Be Doing:

\n

    \n
  • Support Project Managers from preconstruction through final turnover
  • \n

  • Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, procurement, and project documentation
  • \n

  • Assist with project budgets, schedules, cost tracking, and forecasting
  • \n

  • Coordinate closely with Superintendents, subcontractors, architects, and consultants
  • \n

  • Participate in project meetings and help drive day-to-day project execution
  • \n

  • Gain exposure to both the development and construction sides of projects
  • \n

  • Take on increasing project ownership as you progress toward Project Manager
  • \n

\n

\n

What They're Looking For:

\n

    \n
  • Assistant Project Manager or Project Engineer experience within construction
  • \n

  • Experience with either multifamily/high-rise OR commercial interiors
  • \n

  • General Contractor or Developer experience preferred
  • \n

  • Strong understanding of the construction process and project documentation
  • \n

  • Someone looking to take on more responsibility and grow into a Project Manager role
  • \n

\n

\n

Compensation & Benefits:

\n

    \n
  • 💰 Base salary $100k - $120k
  • \n

  • 💵 Lucrative bonus potential
  • \n

  • 🏙️ Work on major high-rise developments and a diverse mix of commercial projects
  • \n

  • 📈 Strong pipeline with multiple future project phases already planned
  • \n

  • 🚀 Clear opportunity for continued career progression
  • \n

  • 🤝 Direct exposure to the Developer/Owner side of the business
  • \n

  • 📍 All Chicagoland projects — no travel required
  • \n

  • 🏢 Downtown Chicago location
  • \n

\n

\n

If you're an APM looking for larger projects, more exposure to the development side, and a strong pipeline of work to grow your career around, I'd love to tell you more.
